In today's article we would like to present to you a modern house in West London that received its current appearance after a renovation by Thompson+Baroni Architects. The architects changed the interior of the house in south-west London to create a bright, open-plan living area that has a contemporary look thanks to the great interplay of wood and stainless steel. The interior is predominantly characterized by white wall design, creating a simple, clean and calm ambience. The house has a backyard with a small patio area. A small dining table outside provides great opportunity for outdoor entertaining and relaxing.
Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doorswith narrow frames provide the connection between the backyard and the living area. They allow an unrestricted view of the garden. The kitchen and dining area are characterized by a simple white wall design and therefore appear neat and spacious. The bespoke kitchen with white cabinet fronts also includes a long stainless steel worktop made in Italy by Forster. Recessed Viabizzuno ceiling lighting completes the seamless and straightforward interior design. In addition to the kitchen and dining area, a wide hallway leads to the living room at the front of the building. A gray, open fireplace with an integrated television above interrupts the uniform white wall design. The old flooring in the house was completely replaced with oak parquet made of wide boards.
If you go up the stairs to the intermediate level, you will reach a room where the library or music room is located. Custom-made wooden shelves were built into the wall and stand out with their warm color against the white background. The stairs that connect the individual floors impress with an interesting design that has several facets, each of which influences the interior in different ways. While the oak tread exudes warmth, the underside of the stairs with the blue stainless steel gives the stairwell a cool touch. The matt railings give the modern design the finishing touch. If you go all the way up the stairs, you reach a bedroom where the white wall design is again in the foreground. The simple window takes up the white theme again with the curtain and ensures privacy. There are white, wooden cupboards around the headboard of the bed, providing plenty of storage space.
In the second bedroom wasthe bed on a platformplaced. The bed can be reached by climbing the four steps with a similar design to those in the stairwell. On the lower level of the room there is a small work area with a desk and wall shelves made of matt stainless steel, as well as a chest of drawers made of light wood. In the bathroom, the Italian sandstone walls and flooring from Pietra Serena were combined with cabinets and shelves made of real teak. This successful interplay of materials creates a modern and simple look and brings a touch of luxury and comfort to the living area. In the second bathroom, the same sandstone was used on the walls and floor.
