1 kilo of apples
2 pieces of vanilla bean
80ml water
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 lemon
2 tablespoons sugar
1. Peel, core and cut apples into rough pieces.
2. Squeeze the lemon and add the juice to the apples.

3. Bring water to the boil in a pot with the vanilla pods, sugar and cinnamon sticks. Add apples and cook on low for 15 to 20 minutes.
4. Remove the vanilla pod and cinnamon sticks and chop the apples with a hand blender.
5. Now you can decide whether you want to serve the applesauce already or preserve it in jars.
6. Using a soup ladle, pour the still boiling puree into the jars and close them immediately. It is important that the applesauce is still really hot.
7. Then the sealed jars are placed in a pot of boiling water and left in there for a few minutes. Then remove it, let it cool down and store it in the cupboard.
