This is an easy recipe with healthy ingredients that everyone needs to try this fall!
Ingredients:
12 fresh figs
120 g soft goat cheese
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup date syrup (you can also use honey)
Instructions for preparation:
- Preheat the oven to grill. Cut the stems off the figs and cut an “X” into the top of each fig 1/3 the length. Place the figs on a greased baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place goat cheese in a plastic bag or piping bag and massage until soft. Cut a tip off one of the bottom corners of the bag and pipe the cheese into each fig, dividing the 12 figs evenly among the cheeses.
- Brush the figs lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt and a generous amount of freshly ground black pepper.
- Honigabout the fruitscancel.
- Grill the figs for about 4 minutes.
- Warm the date honey slightly in a small saucepan; it should be easy to pour and warm, but not hot.
- Remove the figs from the oven and drizzle with warm date honey.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
A variation with walnuts
A very quick recipe with figs and goat cheese.
Ingredients:
6 medium sized figs
80 grams of soft goat cheese
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon chopped sage
2 tablespoons honey
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions for preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Cut off the stems and score the top of each fig in the middle with an X.
- Stuff the figs with soft goat cheese using a teaspoon. Sprinkle some chopped walnuts and sage over the stuffed figs and drizzle with honey. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Grill for about 5 minutes or until tender and juicy. Serve warm or cold with a glass of wine. Bon appetit!
Fresh figs with goat cheese and honey
Honey goes perfectly with figs and goat cheese. Try this recipe at home!
Ingredients:
4 medium-sized fresh figs, ripe
8 teaspoons goat cheese
2 teaspoons honey, or honey infused with lavender
flaky sea salt or kosher salt (optional)
30 g finely chopped walnuts or hazelnuts
1 teaspoon maple syrup
Instructions for preparation:
- Wash and dry the figs carefully. Remove the stem with a sharp knife. Quarter the figs from the stem end towards the bottom, being careful not to cut them all the way through.
- Carefully place 1 teaspoon of goat cheese in the center of each fig. Drizzle with honey or lavender honey and serve on a small plate with a fork as an appetizer or dessert.
- Optional: garnish with a pinch of sea salt or kosher salt and/or maple syrup-glazed nuts such as walnuts or hazelnuts.
Fresh fig halves with goat cheese and walnuts glazed with maple syrup
- Wash each fig, dry it and remove the stem end. Place 1 teaspoon of goat cheese on each fig half, then top with the maple syrup-glazed walnuts. Drizzle with honey. Add a tiny pinch of salt at the end. Serve with napkins as finger food.
