Roasted almonds with chocolate: This is how you can prepare the sweet snack from the Christmas market in a different way!

The Christmas markets are our biggest passion this season! With a cup of hot mulled wine in your hand and a few goodies, the days leading up to Christmas go by faster. But you don't necessarily have to go outside to enjoy your favorite Christmas market snacks. For example, we have already discovered how you can make roasted almonds at home so that they are in no way inferior to the classic. Today we would like to go one step further and show you how to prepare roasted almonds with chocolate to treat yourself or your loved ones.

Nuts are healthy, but will children eat them raw? Probably not. But if you make these delicious chocolate almonds with children's chocolate, there may not be much left. Becauseeverything tastes better with a chocolate coating. Try this recipe yourself - it's also great if you want to give home-made Christmas gifts from the kitchen this year.

However, this snack is not just for children. Even adults will have a hard time stopping eating it because roasted almonds and chocolate are a match made in heaven.

Ingredients:

  • 600 g almonds with skin
  • 200 g granulated sugar, fine
  • 400 ml water
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 12 pcs. children's chocolate (bars)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder + 2 tbsp powdered sugar for rolling

Preparation:

  1. Place water, almonds, sugar and cinnamon in a pot. Bring to the boil and cook until all the water has evaporated, stirring constantly.
  2. When the sugar has caramelized and sticks to the almonds (it takes about 15 minutes), remove the pan from the heat, stir for a few more minutes and place the roasted almonds on a baking tray lined with baking paper and spread them out. Allow to cool.
  3. While the almonds are cooling, melt the children's chocolate in a bowl in a water bath.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate over the cooled nuts and mix everything well.
  5. Put the coated almonds back on the tray and separate them from each other so that they don't stick.
  6. When the chocolate sets, sprinkle the almonds with cocoa and powdered sugar and toss until well coated.
  7. Enjoy the roasted almonds with chocolate straight away or pack them in paper bags or jars as a gift for Christmas.

White chocolate enjoyment: recipe for Raffaello almonds

Classic roasted almonds are great. But these Raffaello almonds are better. They are reminiscent of the coconut flavor of our favorite pralines and are also easy to prepare. Would you also like to try it yourself? Then follow the recipe and make this delicious snack yourself at home.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g almonds, with skin on
  • 80ml water
  • 100g granulated sugar (or mixed 50g granulated and 50g brown sugar)
  • 1 1/2 TL Vanilleextrakt
  • 50 g grated coconut
  • 100 g white chocolate coating
  • 1 tablespoon coconut fat

Preparation:

  1. Place sugar, water and vanilla in a large saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once the mixture is bubbling, add the almonds. Reduce the heat and let it cook until the water has evaporated and the sugar turns brown - about 6-7 minutes. Stir constantly.
  3. Then place the almonds on a baking tray lined with baking paper, separate them and let them cool.
  4. In the meantime, melt the white couverture with coconut oil in a water bath and let it cool slightly. Add the cooled almonds, sprinkle with the coconut flakes and mix everything well.
  5. Spread again on the baking paper and let dry.

Chocolate almonds without sugar with dark chocolate

For thePreparation of classic roasted almondsLike the Christmas market, a lot of sugar is used. However, if you are making chocolate almonds, you can leave out the sugar coating and just cover the almonds with the chocolate. This recipe for roasted almonds with chocolate is very simple - try it yourself!

Ingredients:

  • 200 g almonds, raw and with skin
  • 100 g dark chocolate, chopped (whole milk also works)
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C.
  2. Line a baking tray with baking paper and roast the almonds for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  3. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted. Be careful not to burn the chocolate. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate in a water bath.
  4. Add the almonds to the melted chocolate and stir until all the almonds are coated in chocolate.
  5. Place cocoa powder in a medium bowl and add a handful of the chocolate-covered almonds at a time. Mix until all almonds are covered with cocoa powder. Then shake off the excess cocoa powder and place it back on the baking paper. Attention: Don't roll all the almonds in the cocoa powder at once, otherwise you'll end up with a big chocolate mess.
  6. Allow the chocolate almonds to dry and then store in a tight-fitting container at room temperature for up to a month or gift-wrap them.
