Christmas is just around the corner and preparations for the most wonderful celebration of the year are already in full swing. Sure - there are some classics without which the holidays wouldn't be half as wonderful. But this year we have decided to expand our baking book and can hardly wait to share with you our recipe for the most delicious nut nougar croissants. And to make the Christmas breakfast something very special, we'll tell you as a bonus how to prepare the best nut nougat croissants from Danish pastry!
The classic with a difference: recipe for nut nougat croissants
Whether classic vanilla crescents, anise cookies orGrandma's Linzer cookies– delicious cookies sweeten the wait until Christmas. Crispy nougat croissants dipped in chocolate glaze – you will love our nut nougat croissants, we promise!
Ingredients for 45-50 pieces
- 300 grams of wheat flour
- 100 grams butter, at room temperature
- 1 No
- 2 packs of vanilla sugar
- 200 grams of nut nougat
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
- A pinch of salt
- 200 grams of dark chocolate
preparation
- For the shortcrust pastry, sift the wheat flour and baking powder into a large bowl.
- Add vanilla sugar and salt and mix well.
- Then add the egg, butter and vanilla extract to the bowl and knead into a smooth dough using the dough hook of the hand mixer - takes about 6-9 minutes.
- Wrap the dough airtight in cling film and place in the fridge for at least 40 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees top and bottom heat or 150 degrees fan and line two large baking trays with baking paper.
- Knead the dough well with your hands on a floured work surface and shape it into a roll about 2 cm thick.
- Cut the roll into pieces about 1 cm wide and then form rolls with your hands.
- Place on the baking tray and shape into the typical croissants.
- Put one baking tray in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
- In the meantime, cool the second baking tray.
- Allow the nut nougat croissants to cool completely.
- Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath to a silky mass and dip the ends of the cooled cookies in it.
- And voilà – your irresistibly delicious nut nougat croissants are ready.
Prepare nut nougat croissants in the Thermomix
Whether for baking cookies, for soups, casseroles or pasta – the Thermomix is a real all-rounder and a great helper in many households. And yes – of course you can prepare nut nougat croissants in the Thermomix!
Ingredients for about 40 pieces
- 300 grams of wheat flour
- 100 grams butter, at room temperature
- 1 No
- 200 Gramm Nougatmasse
- 1 pack of vanilla sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 100 grams of dark chocolate
preparation
- Place the nougat mixture and butter in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 seconds/speed setting 4.
- Add the vanilla sugar, salt and egg to the mixing bowl and mix well for 30 seconds/gentle mixer setting.
- Gradually add the wheat flour and baking powder and knead into the nougat mixture with the spatula for 3 minutes/“kneading dough” mode.
- Wrap the dough airtight in cling film and place in the fridge for at least 50 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line two large baking trays with baking paper.
- Form about 50 small crescents out of the dough and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes and let cool completely.
- Melt the dark chocolate in a water bath and dip the ends of the cookies in it.
- And that's it - it's that easy to prepare nut nougat croissants in the Thermomix.
Fluffy nut nougat croissants made from Danish pastry
Have breakfast with our loved ones and immediately start the day in a good mood – doesn’t that sound fantastic? Christmas breakfast can be something special. The fluffy pastry is not that well known in this country, but actually has a very long history and originally comes from Austria.
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 pack of Danish pastry or puff pastry
150 Gramm Nougat - 50 grams of ground hazelnuts
- 1 egg for brushing
preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into triangles.
- Cut the nougat into 5-10 cm thick strips.
- Spread hazelnuts and nougat on the broad side of the triangle and roll the dough up tightly to the tip.
- Shape into a croissant and place on the baking tray.
- Lightly beat the egg and brush the crescents with it.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes and your nut nougat crescents made from Danish pastry are ready!
