Delicious recipes for the camping oven – perfect for beginners too
Pasta, potatoes, pizza, bread and even cake – in principle everything is possible! Here are a few ideas that are suitable for all common ovens of this type:
Vegan sweet potato pie with black lentils
Full of protein and savory sweetness combined in one deliciousDish for your camping trip.
- 200 g black or green lentils
- 400 g diced canned tomatoes
- 4 small carrots
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 5 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 4 cm piece of ginger, grated or very finely chopped
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 TL Turmeric
- optional: ½ tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 TL Garam Massala
- 1 EL Kill
- 1 handful of fresh coriander leaves
For the sweet potato topping:
- 1 medium to large sweet potato, cut into very thin slices
- 100 ml vegan Sahne
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ TL Chiliflocken
- Pfeffer
- Salt
How to prepare the camping pie:
- Heat the oil in a pot.
- Sauté the onion for 3 minutes.
- Add the ginger and garlic and fry for another 2 minutes.
- Now stir in the lentils and cook everything for another minute.
- Season with the specified spices.
- After a minute, add the tomatoes and let everything simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the topping by mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl and setting aside so that the spices can develop their aroma.
- Add the carrots to the cooking lentils. You may need to add a little more water. Cook 5 more minutes.
- Stir in the garam masala and remove the pot from the heat.
- Put the latter in the camping oven and spread the topping with the sweet potatoes over it.
- Close with the lid and place the mold on the stove.
- Depending on the heat, bake for about 35 minutes and serve with the fresh coriander leaves.

A quick recipe with zucchini
Despite being quick and easy to prepare, this hearty zucchini cake is a real treat and should not be missing from your list of recipes for the camping oven.
- 150 g Flour
- 1 heaped teaspoon of baking powder
- 3 Owner
- 1 Zucchini
- 100g grated cheese
- 10 cl Milch
This is how it's done:
- Grate the zucchini into small pieces and place them in a colander to drain (or squeeze).
- In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients.
- Add the eggs and milk.
- Fold in the zucchini and cheese.
- Distribute the mixture onto the camping oven.
- Bake until the top begins to brown around the edges.

Vegan cinnamon rolls to pull
No matter if you are ordinaryeat veganor not, you are guaranteed to like these snails. They are prepared from a yeast dough.
- 400 g Flour
- 50g sugar
- 50 g vegan, melted butter
- 250 ml soy milk
- 1 tbsp ground cardamom
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- level teaspoon of salt
- 1 packet of dry yeast (7 g)
For the filling:
- 110 g vegane Butter
- 100g brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
For the glaze:
- 100g powdered sugar
- 1 T water (or vegan milk)
- 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
How to prepare the mini oven recipe:
- Heat the milk in a saucepan to 43 degrees.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and yeast until they are completely dissolved.
- Set the milk aside to give the yeast 10 minutes to activate.
- In a bowl, knead a dough from the yeast, flour, melted butter and spices.
- Grease a bowl and place the dough in it to rise. To do this, cover it in a warm place for an hour. During this time it should double in size.
- Meanwhile, prepare the filling by putting all the ingredients in a bowl and mashing thoroughly with a fork.
- Roll out the finished dough into a long, rectangular strip. If necessary, you can dust the work surface with flour.
- Spread the filling on the dough.
- Fold the dough three times into equal parts.
- Turn the dough 90 degrees and fold three times again. This way you will get several thin layers.
- Roll out the layered dough flat and cut it into about 10 to 14 strips total.
- Roll up the strips one at a time and distribute the snails in your oven dish.
- Cover the cinnamon rolls and let them rise for another hour until they double in size.
- Depending on the heat, bake the snail cake over medium heat for about 30 minutes. It's ready when it starts to turn golden brown.
- Then let the snails cool down. Drizzle them with the glaze made from the ingredients listed.
