Bake the cherry cake with fresh cherries or cherries from a jar?
Whether you bake the chocolate cherry cake with fresh cherries or cherries from a jar is purely a matter of taste. Either way, it tastes super juicy and delicious. But during the cherry season in summer, we would recommend you to go for fresh fruits. If pitting the cherries is too time-consuming for you or if you want to enjoy the cake all year round, then cherries in a jar are also a very good option. Alternatively, you can use frozen cherries, but you should thaw them first, then drain them and then pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
