Did you know that Nutella is made up of up to two thirds sugar? Maybe that's why so many people like it so much. According to the packaging information, one jar of the spread only contains 13% hazelnuts and 7.5% skimmed milk powder. The rest consists of sugar, palm oil and a little low-fat cocoa. If you know the ingredients, which are all commercially available, you can develop your own variant. The best thing about a homemade chocolate spread is that you can choose the ingredients and choose them based on your individual preferences. For example, hazelnuts can be replaced with peanuts or almonds. As an alternative to white sugar, you can use brown or agave syrup.
