With just 6 simple ingredients you can make this wonderful shortbread yourself this Christmas. Enjoy it!
Ingredients for approx. 70-80 pieces:
- 400 g Flour
- 200 g butter, diced
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 vanilla pod or 2 packs of vanilla sugar
- 100 g powdered sugar for rolling
Preparation:
- Sift flour into a bowl, then add butter, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks. Mix all ingredients into a smooth dough with your hands or with the kneading attachment of the hand mixer.
- Halve the dough, form into balls and wrap in cling film. Place the balls in the refrigerator for an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C top/bottom heat or 160 °C fan oven and line two baking trays with baking paper.
- Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into fist-sized portions. Roll each ball into a roll about 2-3 cm thick and cut the roll into 2 cm thick pieces.
- Arrange the cookies on the trays, leaving enough space between them.
- Bake the dream pieces in batches for 13 to 15 minutes until they are lightly golden. Let cool on a baking rack.
- Put the powdered sugar in a bowl and roll the slightly warm cookies in it.
You can store the dream pieces from this recipe in a well-sealed cookie jarStore cookies for up to 2 weeks. But they will most likely disappear by the next day.
