Christmas dinner ideas – simple festive 4-course menu

The dishes for the festive table at Christmas should not be complicated or too time-consuming to prepare, as the holidays are also a good opportunity to spend more time with the family. That's why we offer some simple, quick Christmas dinner ideas for a 4-course menu that everyone who dines with you would definitely like.

Ingredients for a simple coconut curry pumpkin soup:

  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • ½ tablespoon fresh ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 Teelöffel Curry powder
  • ½ teaspoon coriander
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • 1 medium-sized pumpkin, about 1 kg, without the seeds and pulp
  • 900 ml chicken broth or vegetable broth for a vegetarian soup
  • 400 ml coconut milk (20% fat)
  • Pepper and sea salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 Cup Ganze Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained, chopped

Potato salad with roasted potatoes and dill ingredients:

  • 1.5 kg small potatoes, halved
  • 5 slices of ham, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 Cup Ganze Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dill, chopped
  • 1/2 shallot, chopped

Crusty roasted duck for 4 people – Ingredients:

  • gaze Ente (ca. 2.5 kg)
  • 1 teaspoon coarse sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped rosemary + 3 whole sprigs of rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Peel of 1 orange, finely grated
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 2 cups pomegranate juice
  • 1/2 Tasse Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum

For the glaze:

  • 1/2 cup drippings
  • 1/2 Tasse Captain Morgan Spiced Rum Original
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses
  • Juice of 1/2 orange

Preparation:

  • Heat oven to 230 degrees
  • Remove innards and wing tips
  • Tie the legs forward and pierce them with a sharp knife
  • Grind salt, rosemary and orange peel in a mortar and pestle
  • Rub the paste all over the duck, including the inside, bottom and meat
  • There should be 0.5 centimeters of liquid at the bottom of the baking tray, add pomegranate juice
  • Bake the duck in the oven for 2.5 hours and baste with pan juices in 15-20 minutes

Blood Orange Tart Recipe – Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 200 g Flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 120 ml milk
  • 115 g Butter
  • the peel of an orange
  • 120g sugar divided into two
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For the topping:

  • 3-5 blood oranges
  • 50 g Butter
  • 70g sugar

Preparation of the topping:

  • Peel the oranges, remove the seeds and cut into slices
  • Melt butter with sugar in a pan or springform pan, place the slices next to each other and place smaller pieces in the gaps between them
