Additionally, DIY candles make great additions to your workspace or bathroom, as well as excellent and inexpensive gifts for friends or family.

Make DIY candles in a glass – instructions

To start making candles, you'll need a few supplies and tools. However, startup costs are still relatively low, and once you've got your supplies set up, you can make numerous inexpensive candles. Dealing with wax is a pretty messy business. Especially when it melts, droplets can get everywhere and you won't know until the wax dries. Place paper towels in your work area. Luckily, wax isn't that difficult to clean, although it is a bit tedious. You can usually just scrape it off with a fingernail. Also have your jars or other containers and wicks ready. Once you get started, the process goes a little faster than you would initially expect.

If you make candles yourself, you can spend a pleasant afternoon with yourself. Store your own creations in the jar for long-lasting, personal use and enjoyment. It is best to use soy wax and non-toxic wax crayons for coloring if you pour the candles yourself. This allows for a variety of possible color combinations. You can also turn your wax candles into scented candles using essential oils.

Non-toxic crayons make an excellent coloring agent because they come in a variety of colors and can be mixed and matched. They're also already wax-based, so you can melt the pieces directly into the wax without having to worry about diluting them.

Materials

  • Candle wax
  • candle wick
  • colorful wax crayons
  • Glas
  • Pencil
  • wooden skewer
  • Never
  • tin cup
  • Bowl
  • Carpet cutter or scissors

Instructions

  • First, find the colored pencils you want and cut small pieces of them to use as dye. As a general rule, red, orange, and purple tend to have slightly less color than blue, green, and yellow.
  • If you melt the wax directly in the pot, it will get too hot and can make a huge mess. To do this, first fill the pot with 2/3 water and then place the tin cup in it. The latter should float in the water bath while you bring the water to a boil.
  • Hold the cup with tongs to avoid burning your fingers and stir with the wooden skewer.
  • First, melt a bit of candle wax and any crayon in the cup and stir the mixture.
  • Dip the candle wick into the mixture and then place it in the bottom of the glass container. It is best to wrap the tip of the wick around the pencil, which you then position crosswise on the glass. Let the whole thing cool down for a minute.
  • You can also make these from leftover wax. Melt wax granules or other wax in the tin cup and pour the remaining amount into the glass.
  • In order for the candle to harden properly, you should let it rest for at least 12 hours.
  • Finally, cut the candle wick to the desired length using a knife or scissors.

Who doesn't love decorating their home or apartment with a beautiful candle in the shape of a rose? This can add warmth and light to any room and generally make your home feel cozier. The great thing is that you can easily make rose candles yourself with just a few simple steps and a little bit of knowledge. Another benefit of making your own candles is that you can control what goes into them. If you are sensitive to scents, you can leave them out.

Materials

  • Candle wax

  • red crayon
  • essential oil (optional)

  • Carpet cutter or scissors

Instructions

  • First, select the desired colors again and melt the wax together with the wax crayons in a water bath while stirring the mixture well and holding the container with the tongs.
  • When the candle wax is ready, you can use the spoon to pour some “petals” onto the baking paper in different places.
  • Allow the leaves to cool for a minute without becoming too hard so that they remain flexible.
  • Place the candle wick on one of the petals and roll it in it.
  • Attach the remaining leaves to the base using the lighter to soften and bend. Cut off the bottom end with a knife or scissors. Complete!
