Although we usually associate pumpkins with autumn, the first ones can actually be harvested at the end of August. This is especially true for decorative pumpkins, which can be used to create wonderful decorations. Would you like a quick craft project for a beautiful decoration suitable for the season?
For table decorations for late summer, you can not only use the decorative pumpkins mentioned in different colors. A few seasonal flowers, preferably long-lasting dried flowers, also fit perfectly and make the decoration look even more attractive.
Pumpkins, moss and flowers in a wooden bowl - decorating can be so easy!
It's best to use pumpkins of different sizes to create a certain dynamic. You decide for yourself whether you choose orange varieties like in the example or whether you would prefer it to be discreetly white. You need:
- any decorative bowl, e.g. B. made of wood
- Pumpkins (number depends on the size of the bowl and the pumpkins)
- moss (e.g. Icelandic moss); You can also combine two varieties
- Lampionblume
- Globe thistles
- Cotton lace ribbon (or other)
The table decoration for late summer is very easy to make
- Place the decorative bowl in front of you and arrange the pumpkins on it. You can experiment with the arrangement.
- Cut a piece of ribbon for each pumpkin. 20 centimeters should be enough, but you can of course choose any other length.
- Tie the ribbons around the pumpkin stems. Use a simple, curly knot or tie a bow as desired.
- Spread moss around the pumpkins. In the example, the free areas were covered with plucked reindeer moss and reindeer moss was added here and there in a spherical shape.
- Distribute some Chinese lantern flowers.
- Finally add dried globe thistle flowers.

As already mentioned, you can also use white and green pumpkin varieties for this type of table decoration. You can get an idea of this in the two examples. It would of course be ideal to choose a decorative bowl in a matching color and to adapt the flowers. - large decorative glass
- Moss (for example leaf moss and curly moss)
- large and small pebbles
- Juteband
- Yarn
- Hot glue
This is how it's done:
- Cut the jute ribbon into the desired width and length.
- Secure it with a few drops of glue around the glass.
- Place the candle inside and fill the bottom of the glass around the candle with a few small pebbles.
- Surround the candle with leaf moss.
- Spread Curly Moss over it.
- Place a few larger pebbles on top.
- Wrap yarn around the outside of the jar and tie a bow.
