The futuristic architecture and utopian world of Dionisio González

Concerned about the future of the world, Spanish artist Dionisio González tries to provide possible solutions to the Earth's problems. His carefully executed digital photomontages represent onefuturistic architecturethat offers protection against climate-related natural disasters. Although some of these surrealistic structures look as if they were just created by natural disasters, they can serve as great inspiration for future-proof projects. We invite you to embark on a journey into the utopian world of Dionisio González.

The futuristic architectural world of Dionisio González, where beauty and chaos coexist

The contemporary art galleryYusto/Ginerin Malaga, Spain presents the artist's conceptual works. “Arquitectura para la resistencia” or “Architecture for Resistance” is his first solo exhibition. It includes 2 projects with surrealistic digitally manipulated images - 'dauphin island' and 'inter-actions', both depicting fantasy landscapes embedded in an integrated urban development plan. His surrealistic world includes resilient structures that would be exposed to extreme weather conditions.

In his photographs, Gonzalez works specifically with emotions such as fascination and euphoria and with the impression of chaos, which run through his entire work in recurring, sometimes very different scenarios - a trademark of the talented artist. His concern for the social realm drives his ongoing search for physical places where beauty and chaos coexist.

An artistic project promotes environmental awareness

Dionisio Gonzalez imagines one protected against catastrophesfuturistic architecturewould look like. 'Dauphin island' was supposed to be located in the Gulf of Mexico, a place constantly exposed to devastating hurricanes. Impressed and motivated by the vitality of the inhabitants, who build it repeatedly, which nature repeatedly destroys, Dionisio designed his sustainable and habitable constructions. In this landscape full of breathtaking beauty, on the water and between the islands, there is a futuristic “fortress" developed. Concrete and iron replace the unstable wood. The residential structures designed by Golzalez present themselves in an impressive variety of shapes.

'Dauphin island' – eco-friendly futuristic architecture

“I gave the habitable structures a new shape, in the vacuum of perception of spaces that had previously been devastated” tellsGonzález.

Image collection 'inter-actions'

The second collection of fictional images is called 'inter-actions' and presents the dynamic connection between people and the environment. The black and white photographs describe structures thatmerge with their environmentand promote the careful use of natural resources.

González's 2011 series of images 'favelas' visualizes urban spaces where the houses are futuristic and abstract. The focus of his interest is architecture and the perception of social asymmetries.
