Old houses can be turned into real gems. Proof of this is provided by the design by Wahana Architects, which was implemented in Jakarta, Indonesia. The original house with an uncomfortable ambience has been converted into a luxurious living area that has large windows for window fronts. We would like to introduce you to exactly this design in this article.
Since the humidity is very high in Indonesia, proper ventilation was of great importance. At the same time, the house also uses passive energy. Large windows weren't just forlots of daylightused inside, but can be opened completely to ensure ventilation of the house at will. In order to prevent the sun from heating up the interior despite these large window fronts, an original sun protection system was also installed on the house. This extends over both floors.
They can be found on both the first and second floors. Both levels ofHausThey are large enough to accommodate a living room with kitchen and dining area as well as four bedrooms, an office room and a cellar and to ensure perfect living comfort.
In order to adapt the house to the property, an L-shape was chosen. This leaves enough free space for garden design. Many of the plants were already there before the renovation. The exotic specimens create a natural-looking outdoor area and also contribute to shaded areas. The terrace consists of stone tiles for the floor, which are combined with gravel.
