The beautiful house we present today is built on the southern shore of Long Island and impresses with its wonderful location. From the house and garden there is a view of the waterway and the boats passing by. From the bank, however, there is a view of the house and its bright clinker brick facade with glass fronts. The flat-roofed house interrupts the trees and serves as a kind of lantern between them after the sunset. In the warm summer days you can swim in the large pool and in the winter days the light clinker facade serves as good thermal insulation.
The house is designed by Toshihiro Oki architect and conceived as a social meeting place for the owner and his family and friends. The entrance to the house, living room, dining area and kitchen share a common space and are considered the social center of the house. Sliding glass doors connect this open area to the terrace and garden, allowing for a seamless transition between inside and outside. The house and the associated oneGarden with pooloffer many entertainment options for residents and their guests. There you can relax on the weekend and recover from the long work week.
Inside, the house has a total of five bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. This way guests can maintain their privacy. Thefloor-to-ceiling windowsin each bedroom give access to the outdoor area and offer beautiful views of the surrounding area. There is only one bedroom on the second floor of the house, which has its own roof terrace with a cover and wonderful views.
The bright clinker brick facade is made of special bricks that are resistant to the salty, humid air and the cold in winter. They therefore serve as good thermal insulation, which contributes to more efficient heating and cooling. The bricks do not follow a precise pattern and therefore create a unique look. In some rooms, the facade also extends into the interior and creates beautiful accents in the interior.
The floors are laid with travertine natural stone slabs, under which underfloor heating is installed. This means that the house can be optimally heated, even in autumn and winter, despite the window fronts. The travertine also has a beautiful, natural look that harmonizes wonderfully with the light bricks.
