House with marble countertop & herringbone parquet combines different styles

This attractive family home is located in Carlton, Australia and was designed by Biasol. It belongs to a small family that enjoys downtown life and has a passion for history, architecture and different interior design styles. What is striking is the elongated shape of the house, for which a suitable distribution of space and furnishings had to be found. In our opinion, the architects solved this task very well. All rooms are pleasantly bright and spacious enough to guarantee a comfortable family life. And in order to ensure there is enough nature despite the location in the city, the inner courtyard was equipped with plenty of plants. Another feature is the mix of different styles, which we would like to introduce to you below. The popular marble worktop, which was used here in both the kitchen and the bathroom, should also be mentioned.

Different furnishing styles, marble worktops and herringbone parquet

If you look at the beautiful facade of the house, you notice two different styles: On the one hand, it impresses with a terrace with an Italian-style character, which is composed, among other things, of an elegant wrought iron railing. This is complemented by the beautiful ornaments that are typical of the Victorian style and create a touch of romance. When you enter the house, you are once again surprised by the charm of a classic Parisian apartment. This timeless style is characterized by bright rooms, elegant details such as the marble worktop and the herringbone parquet and sufficient areas where the whole family and friends can gather and spend time together. There is also specially made furniture that is designed to meet the wishes of the residents and the characteristics of the house.

Worktop for the kitchen in marble look

In order to allow sufficient light to flood into the rooms, a two-story concept was developed. These are connected to each other by the already mentioned inner courtyard. And it is precisely this courtyard that replaces the missing windows andleaves enough lightpenetrate into the rooms. The white wooden paneling for the walls also reflects the light. On the first floor there is the living room with dining area and kitchen, which impresses with its modern look. The marble worktop for the kitchen in white looks elegant and fits in perfectly with this modern look. White natural stone is combined not only with white kitchen surfaces, but also with various black elements, which include the dining table, the bar stools and the window frames. There is also a toilet and a bathroom on the first floor.

On the second floor there are two bedrooms and a larger bathroom, all of which are connected by a long and elegant hallway. The floor covering should also be mentioned here, which not only adorns the hallway, but is particularly effective here. It is a stunning herringbone parquet. The herringbone parquet was chosen in gray and thus creates the necessary change from the white walls. The bedroom is flooded with light and impresses with an elegant velvet-covered headboard in blue-gray. The matching bedside tables are also definitely worth mentioningin green marble, which despite its special color is reminiscent of the marble worktop in the kitchen.

Marble countertop in the bathroom

Natural stone in the same color as the worktop in the kitchen can also be found in the bathroom. The white marble was used there to cover the walls,as floor coveringand as a vanity top. Another bathroom is decorated with a marble worktop in green.

This color is currently particularly trendy and not only looks elegant, but also extravagant and also provides color in the otherwise simple interior. This green worktop in a marble look is combined with the already familiar natural stone in gray and white from the kitchen and bathroom. The floor was again used againthe beautiful herringbone patternchosen.

Warm and subtle colors

Both the materials and the colors of the interior of the house are generally warm and subtle. Darker colors such as brown, black or the dark green marble worktop decorate smaller areas or set accents. All this aims to replace the lack of light due to the long shape of the house and the fact that it is a terraced house. This creates a spacious and, above all, inviting look, which is enhanced by the elegant marble kitchen and theNatural stone bathroom, the modern furniture and the charming interior design styles are even improved. This house with different natural stone countertops is the perfect example of how different styles can be easily combined with each other.
