This modern house design was designed by the architecture studio Najjar-Najjar Architekten. The house construction was completed in 2008. The villa has two floors and is located on a slope of Pöstlingberg, in the district of the same name in Linz.
The design of the house was created so that only a small part of the structure can be seen from the street. The villa is accessible from the street and has an interesting roof structure. The facade from the street side is covered with natural stone to ensure more private space for the residents. The other side of the house faces the city of Linz and has a very different design. The open structure of the house on the hillside offers a beautifulPanoramic viewon Linz. In the garden you can relax near a small pond. The construction of the house follows the surface of the mountain. Going down a few stairs from the central room you reach an outdoor dining area with kitchen. A few more stairs down and you find yourself in a comfortable lounge area next to the swimming pool, where you can relax with a book and enjoy the sunshine.
The design pursued the idea of being able to carry out various activities in an open space. The step construction sets the boundaries between the different onesfunctional areas. The harmony between the interior and exterior spaces was maintained with the help of glass walls and sliding doors. The bedrooms are on the second floor. The basement is only partially below ground level. There you can work out in the fitness room and then relax in the spa area. A playroom for children and study rooms are also placed there. The garage is on the north side of the house.
Modern house with an interesting roof construction
The house has a roof structure made of steel and aluminum. On the south and west sides of the villa, the roof intentionally extends well over the terrace, thereby providing shade on warm sunny days. The house is heated by a passive energy implementation concept supported by the waste heat recycler in the ground and sun catcher on the roof. In this way, the house is not only modern and elegant, but also environmentally conscious.
