New terraced house – An apartment building sets new standards in architecture and urban development

A new townhouse construction on Jason Street in Denver breaks the physical conventions of urban architectural typology. The individual housing geometry of the components extrudes vertically over three floors, as is typical for such a construction project. However, the architects from Studio Meridian 105 designed internal units at a distance from the resulting building volume in order to create terraces.

New townhouse construction in Denver – exceptional design

This approach contrasts with the traditional urban model in which such spaces are positioned on the building. The resulting terraced house offers outdoor areas directly adjacent to the building's interior and views of the city center skyline.

Thecontemporary apartment buildingalso contrasts with the residential area, which is dominated by typical terraced houses. These therefore have rarely used roof terraces, which form a rather monotonous urban landscape compared to the design of the house.

Externally, the newly built terraced house and itsvaried facadea futuristic atmosphere to the street scene. A richly glazed facade also extends to the south. Each apartment is flooded with light during the day.

Furthermore, the ground-level entrances are located in a colonnade that is separated from pedestrian traffic and offers privacy. This means that the adjoining living space has optimal privacy protection.

Modernly equipped interiors

Internally, a sunken kitchen is the central social hub, allowing space to flow freely between the living and dining rooms. The project introduces a wide range of outdoor materials that possess tactile and authentic qualities. The stainless steel panels were procured by Meridian 105 from salvage from a local steel fabricator.

The rustic and imperfect properties of the building material contribute to the atypical character of the building and reflect the designers' idea of sustainability. Furthermore, cedar wood cladding encases the colonnade. This has a coating of softwood tar, which was specifically selected for new terraced houses because of its semi-transparent quality.

The apartments are contemporary residences located in a creatively designed, youth-populated neighborhood in Denver. The building has a unique shape and offers unparalleled comfort. The suites have spacious terraces and a two-tiered forecourt.

As mentioned above, there is a Japanese-style kitchen in the lower area of the apartment building. The residents can also enjoy modern bathrooms with perfected details.

The so-called Jason Street Townhomes also offer easy access to the urban lifestyle in a lively urban area. This development is accordingly in a great location that puts you right in the heart of Denver's metro area. The Artists' Quarter is just a stone's throw away and there are dozens of restaurants and cafes nearby. The location of the building is not only within walking distance from the train station, but also within easy reach of other parts of the city.
