This time we present to you a remarkable architectural project from Taiwan, in which the designers make the black facade modern and unique. The building's design was inspired by the spray of sea waves on the shiny pebble beach in Yilan. The first impression of Toucheng Village and Wishi Harbor is the smell of salty waves. The sound of splashes on the sand and the sight of the distant Guishan Island immediately attract attention. The image of dissolving sea foam has become the source of the house's design element.
Onyx Lit House – modern design of an extraordinary facade
A collection of round openings perforate the black facade in a modern and mysterious way. The circleslet light rays throughand diffuse into the air like raw foam. The house is transformed into a dark lantern, whose weak light illuminates the travelers' path in the dark, like in a fairy tale.
The long staircase up to the third floor seems endless and gloomy at first glance, but at the far end you can see the flickering light of hope. The idea of the design is to mimic the country's longest tunnel of Taipei. The architects tried to create the feeling of running through the tunnel, expecting that Yilan's open plain would guide the house's residents through the darkness like the starlights above.
Imaginative interiors
In the rooms, light holes of various sizes ooze out on the wall, allowing visitors to glimpse the tranquil streetscapes. Balconies are open but not exposed. Every guest can enjoy exclusive landscapes, regardless of whether they are in the courtyard or on the hill. Furthermore, the weather doesn't play a role either.
The view from the building can impress any guest in their own comfort. While the house is sunny or it is drizzling outside, unforgettable mountain landscapes open up. The Onyx Lit House is particularly impressive because its black facade is modern and at the same time exudes a cosmic mysticism.
