Scandinavian living style with a modern twist: this is how the interior design can be described. Join us on a virtual tour of the weekend house and let it inspire you!

Scandinavian living style: Puristic furnishings in neutral colors

The modern one-story villa is located on the island of Fano, in the southwestern part of Denmark. A family from Great Britain commissioned the architects to build a holiday home on the beach. It should be hersnew refugefrom the hustle and bustle of the big city in the summer months. With the idea of a relaxed beach house in mind, the interior designers and architects decided on an open plan. For this purpose, the building volume was divided into two. The living area is glazed on three sides and therefore has an excellent view of the coast. The bedrooms, with a direct connection to the living room, are shielded from prying eyes by a wooden wall.

In the living area, two comfortable armchairs and a modular sofa together with several coffee and side tables and a floor lamp form a cozy lounge corner at one end. It invites you to linger and relax with a book and warm drinks.

The upholstered furniture promises the highest level of seating comfort and is covered in soft natural materials. A short-floor carpet keeps your feet warm on cold days. As far as the color palette is concerned, the architects specifically chose neutral sand colors, gray and azure blue. A Scandinavian living style with a maritime flair: This is how the end result can be described.

A cupboard visually separates the living room from the dining room. The dining area is simply but stylishly furnished. In line with the mix-and-match trend, chairs and benches were combined. Warm faux fur bedspreads add accents and create a cozy ambience.

The dining room is right next to the kitchen. Only a door separates it from the outdoor dining area, where the family can sit down on warm days and end the day with a barbecue with friends.

If the residents prefer to eat outside, the dining table inside can be converted into a table tennis table. This means that the children in the family also have a leisure activity.

Scandinavian living style: comfort comes first

A wood-burning fireplace creates a feel-good atmosphere and heats the spacious living area in the evening.

The kitchen, with a direct connection to the outdoor dining area, presents itself in a purist manner. Handleless cabinet fronts made of solid wood, built-in appliances and a white tile backsplash complete the kitchen range.

The spacious work surface is extremely practical and allows the whole family to prepare food together. The natural stone flooring creates a visual connection between the living area and kitchen and ensures a seamless transition between the different rooms.

The bedspreads are used as a splash of color in the children's room and in the parents' bedroom. Red and yellow make the rooms appear cheerful and inviting and loosen up the strict, puristic living image.

Both outside, as well as inside, the house in Denmark is an excellent example of functional and stylish modern architecture.
