In this article we introduce you to a holiday home located on a clifftop on the West Dorset coast, designed by AR Design Studio. It replaces an old house that was originally intended to be expanded, but was destroyed by a landslide during the work, meaning that a new house had to be built. This resulted in a completely new design for the house, which not only impresses with its wooden facade on the outside, but also has interesting designs on the inside.
Wooden facade outside and wooden furniture inside
DieFacade with wooden claddingis also complemented by wood inside. It prepares everyone, so to speak, for what is to come in interior design. The wooden cladding not only exudes a charming atmosphere outside. In the living spaces, the material can be found in the kitchen, dining and seating areas, among other things, using recycled materials such as pallets and plywood. If you are cladding the house facade and, more precisely, designing a wooden facade, it is a good idea to use the material in other areas to create a certain harmony.
Minimalist design in the interiors
Otherwise, the house was furnished with light gray furniture and some subtle color accents. The facade cladding is wonderfully complemented indoors in this way. The open wooden kitchenin minimalist styleis a real eye-catcher and has its own window and a spacious kitchen island. The stairs that lead to the second floor with a bedroom and bathroom are made of the same material. On the ground floor there are two more bathrooms and four bedrooms.
