In today's article we would like to present you a modern house with stylish interior design. The House K in Krems an der Donau, Austria was designed by the Viennese architectural firm Destilat in 2017. The architects from Destilat had the task of replanning the building that the client had purchased as a shell, which they undoubtedly succeeded in doing perfectly. The building has an exceptional and first-class location on the Schloßberg in Krems, which gives it a breathtakingly beautiful view of the Krems vineyards in the north and Göttweig Abbey in the south. The modern house also fascinates with the granite floor, which was used as floor covering in most rooms.
The client's personal needs and requirements were carefully and professionally analyzed. After the interior design of this property was redesigned, the three levels of the building underwent restructuring and extensive renovation. The basement now has onespacious wellness areawith sauna, whirlpool, lounge and fitness area. The basement has just been equipped with ground-level access to the garden. The entrance hall, which is located on the floor above, connects the main northern entrance with the southern entrance by means of a bridge over the castle moat. Otherwise, the entrance in the south can only be reached via a footpath up the Schloßberg. The master bedroom is also located on this level. There is a closet room and a master bathroom attached to it, as well as a completely independent guest apartment with a garden terrace on the south side of the property. The central, open staircase with an attached fireplace wall divides the upper floor into a living and dining area. There is a wine cabinet across the staircase, which visually separates the open kitchen from the living area.
A unique mix of colors and materials was used in the interior, which combines regional elements with a contemporary style. A light granite floor is used on the upper floor, which gives the interior design an elegant and luxurious touch. The fireplace wall made of large-format granite slabs harmonizes excellently and casually with the high-quality granite floor. On the one hand, the dark colored glass contrasts with the light oneNatural stone floorand on the other hand complements the dark wooden fronts. The raw natural stone slabs on the terrace floor were also laid in the entrance area, sleeping area and bathroom and allow the outdoor and indoor areas to merge into one another. The overall concept is complemented by furniture structures with dark, wooden fronts and large mirror cabinets.
