White brick wall and vaulted ceiling in a unique residence in the heart of Barcelona

This recently renovated and fantastically beautiful house is located in l'Eixample, a well-known district of Spain's second largest city Barcelona, where most of the modernist houses in the Catalan capital are located. Marta Castellano's Estudi D'iteriorisme and the Serrat-Tort architectural firm were commissioned to renovate two apartments at the end of the 19th century and combine them into one residence. The original furnishings around which the proposed renovation is designed and which should be retained are the white brick wall and vaulted ceiling, the large fireplace, the herringbone oak flooring, as well as the moldings, windows and doors.

The impressive fireplace is the heart of the furnishings, conjuring up a special atmosphere in the living room, dining room and kitchen. As a decorative element, it creates a space full of personality and style. The white brick wall and vaulted ceiling set the tone in the predominantly white interior, while black and gray notes make the interior more exciting and unique. The living area is where the comfortable comesCouch in Grauperfect in front of the white wall.

In the dining area, a rustic and robust wooden table was combined with white lacquered chairs. There are two hanging above the tableextraordinary chandeliers, which consist of a metal frame and thin, brown fabric. In the evening they provide subdued light, which contributes to a relaxing atmosphere. Wood or brown, gray and white create a modern color combination. The three areas come together in a fabulous oasis of peace and relaxation.

The spectacular kitchen, designed by Marta Castellano-Mas, opens on one side to the dining area and expresses the perfect balance between functionality and impeccable Nordic-style aesthetics. Walls, ceilings, parquet floors and kitchen furniture look stylish and elegant. The black bar stools and individual kitchen utensils in this color create a chic contrast. Wooden elements give the cooking area more homeliness and warmth and round off the harmonious furnishings. The white brick wall gives the cozy, charming house a nice touch of industrial chic. The white layer of paint that covers the walls and ceilings creates a contrast to the vintage-inspired elements and the Nordic furnishing style.

The end result of Marta Castellano-Mas' renovation is a masterful blend of decorative and architectural styles inspired by various sources and aesthetic concepts.
