Everyone is familiar with the classic way of decorating the living room. The focal point is the seating area with a couch and armchairs, all of which always face the same direction, namely towards the television. So that makes the television the real focus. But everyone now knows that television is not particularly positive. If you have decided to banish your device at least from the living room, then today's ideas for living rooms without a TV can be useful to you, with which you can design your living space in a special way.
Living room without TV – new arrangements
Once the television is out, things open uplots of new design ideas, which you can consider. Try moving the seating in a different direction. Maybe you have a great window front? Then you can look outside from the sofa instead of at the television and enjoy nature in your garden from the living room without a television.
Wall unit in the living room
Just because there is no longer a television in the room does not mean that you automatically have to do without a wall unit or a lowboard. Finally, it is great as storage space. But instead of placing a television on the lowboard, you can use various decorations for this purpose. Come up with something for the living room without a TV!
The spacewithnew center
If you have a fireplace in the room, you now have the option of positioning the seating area so that you can enjoy the pleasant fire in the evening. It's a lot more romantic than television, isn't it? And if you don't have a fireplace yet, you can finally consider one.
More spaciousReside
You might be thinking that the lack of a TV alone can't make a room more spacious. And you're actually right. But consider the usual arrangement of the seating furniture. These are usually in a semicircle so that you always have a clear view. As a result, the distance between the armchair and the couch often becomes uncomfortably narrow. If you have a living room without a television, you can change this. In the picture above you can see a great example ofLLI Design Studio.
Seating furniture inCircular shape
Now that the seating area doesn't have to face a specific wall, the furniture can also form a whole circle with the coffee table as the focal point. The room offers more freedom to walk and conversations with family or friends become much more pleasant. That's worth considering, isn't it?
Open living space
You can also set up an open living space in this way. The seating area was directed towards the kitchen, creating a great interaction between the individual areas. On the one hand, they are visually separated, but on the other hand, they are also connected to each other through their orientation.
This room takes advantage of the wonderful view it gets from the particularly attractive windows in a sloping roof. The corner sofa is located in the corner of the room, allowing a view of the entire room. The centerpiece is the round wooden coffee table. The seating area is also visually characterized by the large carpet.
Window frontsto use
As already mentioned, a living room without a television can now be wonderfully equipped with a seating area that faces the window. That was also done in this house. The wall behind the couch, which would probably normally be used for the device, is now free for a large mural.
Seating areawith fireplace
A fireplace doesn't necessarily have to be located opposite the sofa to make a great impression and successfully replace the television. In the room above it is located to the side of the furniture. This leaves enough space for traffic along the seating area. How exactly you rearrange your living room depends entirely on the size of the room.
Two sofasandMurals
Instead of just placing one sofa opposite a wall unit, two sofas were used to create a seating area. This way you get more seats and sitting together and having conversations are more pleasant again. The wall is also free again for a pretty mural that complements the subtle wall color.
Lowboard andStairsin one
This living room is also very original. Despite the lack of a television, it has a lowboard, which also doubles as a step on the stairs. Really cleverly thought out, isn't it? However, this board does not come with the television, but offers space for decorations and can also be used as a reading corner.
Wall unitand fireplace
This room also has a modern wall unit. And where some people would hang their television on the wall, a small fireplace adorns the wall. And the lowboard serves as a shelf for pretty decorations. We think this is a good reason to keep the original furniture with a wall unit and a semicircular seating area.

On the left you can see a lowboard with a floating design. However, it is not used for the television and the sofa was originally not placed opposite it. The Scandinavian room uses a rather atypical furniture arrangement, in which the sofa and wall unit are visually separated and form their own areas.
Light colors combined with some dark gray tones create a modern and stylish ambience. If the fireplace is located higher up on the wall like here, it visually replaces the television perfectly and also forms a beautiful accent wall that makes the room much more comfortable.
Room dividerUse for the seating area
Here the seating area was set up around a panoramic fireplace, which also serves as a room divider. The U-shape of the seating area allows for exciting conversations as well as enjoyable evenings by the warming fireplace.
Art asneuerCenter point
In the living room you can not only watch the television from the seating area. How about hanging a beautiful painting on the wall instead. A sideboard can then wonderfully replace a large wall unit.
The room with two seating areas
If space allows and you can't decide between two possible areas for the lounge, then simply set up both areas to suit. Here the corner sofa serves as a frame for the living area with kitchen and dining area. The living room without a television does have a second seating area right by the window.

How exactly you rearrange the room depends, as I said, on the size of the room and any immovable elements that limit the possibilities. In the living room upstairs, this includes not only the doors, but also the large fireplace, which only makes the middle of the room usable. Nevertheless, the living room looks cozy and inviting.
