In addition, possible complications would be more difficult to treat - a risk that is simply not necessary. The same applies to microneedling: In addition to an increased risk of infection, the treatment can cause the skin to become more pigmented. The expert also advises against strong peels: “Some peels – for example retinol peels – are absolutely contraindicated. A teratogenic effect cannot be ruled out.”

    After birth: What applies to breastfeeding?

    The rules from pregnancy continue to apply while breastfeeding. Here too, the study situation is thin, says Dr. Katja Hackemann. But: “Beauty treatments could cause complications that force you to stop breastfeeding.” Therefore, you should continue to do so during this timeBotox, fillers, lasers or intensive peels are avoided. But don't worry: with the right alternatives, your skin will stay well cared for during this time.

    Gentle alternatives for the pregnancy glow
