Asap Rocky received the “Cultural Innovator Award”
Versatile artist, entrepreneur, actor and fashion icon ASAP Rocky has been honored with the Cultural Innovator Award at the British Fashion Awards 2024. This honor recognizes individuals who have had a significant impact on fashion and global culture through viral fashion moments over the past year.
ASAP Rocky is following in the footsteps of his wife Rihanna, who had previously received the same award at the British Fashion Awards. On stage, the rapper encouraged young talent to follow their dreams and inspired the audience with his message.
Tom Ford received the Outstanding Achievement Award
American fashion designer, entrepreneur and filmmakerwas honored with the “Outstanding Achievement Award” for his life’s work. The award honors personalities who have had a lasting impact on and redefined the fashion world through innovation and creativity. Previous winners include Valentino Garavani, Giorgio Armani, Miuccia Prada and Karl Lagerfeld.
In 1990, Tom Ford started as head womenswear designer at Gucci and was named creative director four years later. Under his creative leadership, the brand developed into one of the most successful luxury labels worldwide. In 2005, he founded his own eponymous brand, Tom Ford, which he left last year. In addition to his work as a designer, Ford is an award-winning filmmaker. His film “A Single Man” earned him an Oscar nomination and “Nocturnal Animals” won a Golden Globe.
Issa Rae was honored with the Pandora Leader of Change Award
American actress, author and producer Issa Rae has been honored with the Pandora Leader of Change Award. The award recognizes their innovative contributions to promoting diversity and social justice as well as their commitment to authentic representation in the entertainment industry. Rae is known for the award-winning series “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl,” the HBO series “Insecure,” and the “Barbie” movie. Her co-star Yvonne Orji presented her with the award with a funny and moving speech. Rae stands for her consistent promotion of diversity and her efforts to make underrepresented voices heard.

Sabato De Sarno, creative director of, received the “Special Recognition Award”., together with photographer Nan Goldin for the “We Will Always Have London” campaign. The 71-year-old activist concluded her acceptance speech with the emphatic words: “Free Palestina.” The Irish designer Simone Rocha also took up this message when she accepted the “British Womenswear Designer Award”.
A highlight of the evening was the performance of the legendary Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry, who thrilled the audience with a rousing medley of “Heart Of Glass” and “I Feel Love” by Donna Summer. At the end of the British Fashion Awards 2024, Afropop star Wizkid performed his song “Troubled Mind”, marking the end of an unforgettable evening.
