Afterlast month announced the launch of a second-hand collection from their most iconic designer collaborations of recent years, the next promising partnership with a renowned designer is now coming: the Swedish fashion group will be launching a collection with a designer in autumn 2025publish – and we can hardly wait!

The designer Glenn Martens

The Belgian native, who is known for his polarizing designs, initially studied interior design and ended up at the famous Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp quite by chance. “I had no idea who Karl Lagerfeld or Alexander McQueen was,” he says himself. No problem, because he was still convincing with his work and became an assistant to Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris after graduating. Martens worked for Y/Project since 2010 until he announced his departure from the label this year. In 2020 he also became Creative Director of Diesel and led the brand to new success. So it's no wonder that Martens is now following in the footsteps of designer greats like Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney orand brings his creative input as a guest designer at H&M.

H&M is known for its exciting designer collaborations

Already revolutionized in 2004the fashion industry with its first designer collaboration, together with Chanel's then head designer. What can we expect from Glenn Martens for H&M?

Glenn Martens is known for his artistic, extravagant creations. For him, there is no clear boundary between streetwear and couture - he mixes the worlds and often creates completely surprising things. For example, he designed Jada Pinkett Smith's dress for the 2022 Oscars or the knee-high UGG boots made famous by singer Rihanna. The young fashion designer is no stranger to working with accessible fashion labels: In addition to UGG, he has already developed a collection with Fila. Gender roles in fashion don't play a particularly important role for Martens. Therefore, we could look forward to some gender fluid designs. Diesel's denim influence could also be an inspiration for his collaboration with H&M. Whatever the collection looks like, one thing is clear: it is guaranteed to surprise and bear the creative signature of Glenn Martens.
