Whether through mountain landscapes, along coastal paths or from town to the city - a road trip offers the perfect way to discover new places and get to know local cultures. The mixture of the freedom of the street and the variety of landscapes makes every kilometer a unique vacation for which not much is needed. A route, well -planned pit stops, a playlist for singing along and of course a car that promises adventure and unforgettable moments: Because it is the moments while driving that make a road trip so unique. For this we not only need a car that drives you safely from A to B, but also combines comfort and powerful features. Cadillac's first electric car combines both - we tested the "Lyriq" on a road trip through Switzerland.

A road trip through the snow? Thanks to the Snow/ICE mode, the "Lyriq" will safely bring you through all weather conditions
Road trip through Switzerland: At the “Lyriq”, powerful features meet luxurious design
First stop: "Swiss Grand Canyon", the Rheinschlucht between Reichenau and Ilanzwerd is one of the most spectacular landscapes in Graubünden - a stop here is therefore a must. In the wild gorges you can pure the River Rafting adrenaline or various hiking tours experience.
With a length of five meters, the caddy offers enough space for all passengers and also sufficient storage space for plenty of luggage. This makes the "Lyriq" the perfect car for traveling. Our road trip leads from Zurich to Laax. This season Cadillac Europe connects a close partnership with the ski area, which is also reflected in three driving modes of the SUV: In addition to the driving modes Tour and Sport, the Caddy can be safely driven through snow and ice through the snow/ICE mode. However, the trip starts as soon as we close the car doors, because from then on you are almost shielded from the outside world. No humming engine noises or intrusive warning tones disrupt the journey, only through vibrations in the seat the person receives discrete warning signals behind the steering wheel if there is a risk. Despite the remarkable size, the SUV turns into a considerable agile for the tight curves of the serpentines. And the panoramic las roof enables the passing mountain landscape to enjoy Switzerland to the fullest.
For us we continue with the caddy towards Vals, we are looking forward to the rich wellness offer in the hotel "7132 House of Architects", which is famous for its thermal spring.

The highlight of the interior is the 33-inch LED display with integrated Google Assistant
Four star architects - Peter Zumthor, Tadao Ando, Kengo Kuma and Thom Mayne - created the hotel's premises. 73 hotel rooms are devoted to contemporary architecture, which could not be more different. We were allowed to spend the night in a Kengo Kuma room. The elements of light, air and water play a major role in its interior design. The architect is actually known for gigantic wood, stone, glass and steel like the "Victoria & Albert Museum" in the Scottish port city of Dundee. For the "7132 House of Architects" he designed 23 cozy cocoons that are inspired by Japanese carpentry.
Design also plays an elementary role in the "Lyriq": From the elegant "Stellar Black Metallic" to the stylish "Radiant Red Tintoat", the "Lyriq" is available in six exterior colors. But the interior also shines with high-quality design made of first-class materials such as Nappa leather and Inteluxe-an innovative, animal-free leather alternative. The 26 different ambient glow, which can be set individually, make us feel like in a second home during the road trip.
After our spa treatment in the thermal bath, we went to one of three hotel restaurants for dinner. The "Silver" was awarded two Michelin stars and offers a culinary journey through the high alpine forests-after all, regional ingredients are served as unique dishes. So we get a foretaste of our ski tour the next day at dinner. The next goal is the ski area in Laax on the program. After a few descents in wonderful weather, we strengthened ourselves with a regional food, the "Pizokel", a specialty from Graubündel in the 360-degree restaurant "Capalari". Again we could hardly wait for the “Lyriq” - the road trip through the Swiss mountains should continue with new energy ...
