It is the secret eyesore in many households: the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Because it is crowded, narrow and not ideal for use due to the drainage pipes. If you add a trash can or a water filter system to the mix, things get more and more chaotic. This doesn't have to be the case, because there are so many things in the base cabinet of the kitchen sink that take up space unnecessarily.
Scouring milk, dishwashing sponges, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, hand soap and refill packs... in the kitchen you want to have everything within easy reach and the cupboard under the sink is best suited for this. But it is precisely because of these utensils that the storage space quickly becomes full and confusing. Only keep the daily essentials there and move the rest to a place with more storage space.
There's a dark place under the sink, a black hole that you quickly throw things into in the hope that it will take care of itself. But if you clear everything out, you'll definitely find one or two things that have seen better days. An old, musty sponge or an empty cleaning bottle, for example. Get rid of it.
Many people hoard kitchen towels under their sink. But that's actually the wrong place. Because it can be damp in this place and not particularly hygienic due to the remaining cleaning products. The towels are used to dry hands or washed dishes. It is therefore better to store them in a dry and, above all, clean place.
