These 10 blockbusters were the most successful films in cinemas worldwide in 2024

In it, humanity is shown some time after the events ofGodzilla vs. Kong, from giant lizardprotected while monster monkey Kong searches for his own kind in the hollow earth. However, the peace is over when scientist Ilene Andrews (Rebecca Hall) picks up a mysterious signal: She travels with foster daughter Jia (Kaylee Hottle), podcaster Bernie (Brian Tyree Henry) and the Titan vet Trapper (Dan Stevens). the Hollow Earth, where Kong made a surprising discovery. The human characters stay inGodzilla x Kong: The New Empirea bit pale, but the monsters are all good and are a lot of fun.

TheDune-Stuff based on Frank Herbert's sci-fi novels was supposed to be made into a film many times, but the first attempts all failed. David Lynch succeeded for the first time in 1984The desert planetbrought the first, legendary film adaptation to the cinema. This meant that the topic was covered in cinematic terms and there was no thought that it could be taken a step further. But it could. 2021 brought Denis VilleneuvesDunecame to the cinema again and delighted science fiction fans all over the world with its remake. It was hard to believe, but Villeneuve actually managed to top Lynch's version - thanks in no small part to an outstanding one. WithDune: Part TwoHe could hardly actually maintain the high level, if not even improve it. The reviews were overwhelming because...Dune: Part Twois truly an outstanding retelling that blows you away - and made the film one of the best of the year.

One of two animated films in the top 3 most successful films of the yearDespicable Me 4, the fourth part of the series. In it, Gru quits his job as a supervillain and leaves Jon Maxime to Le Mal and Valentina while he himself moves to the boring suburbs. But when Maxime Le Mal kidnaps Gru's son Gru Junior, Gru returns spectacularly from early retirement with only one goal: to get his son back. Overall, it's pretty mediocre, but still entertaining entertainment - especially for fans of the series, of course.

Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) has been dreaming of becoming an Avenger for ages - and suddenly the shady TVA agent Mr. Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) offers to make his dream come true. It's logical that Deadpool is interested, except that to do so he has to switch to another timeline, which results in his entire previous world being wiped out. Deadpool doesn't want that, which leads to Mr. Paradox sending both him and the washed-up Wolverine into a universe in which Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) leads a reign of terror. To save his world, Deadpool has to get past it for better or for worse - and to do that he needs the help of Wolverine. After the MCU has become a little quiet recently, Marvel has joined inDeadpool & Wolverinereported back loudly and impressively - and thus heralded the starting signal for everything that will come to us from Marvel in 2025.

And this year's film of films is...drumroll...the second installment of the Pixar hitEverything is upside down. And it's actually incredibly good. This time Riley is no longer so small, but is already 13 years old, a teenager; at an age when feelings can sometimes go crazy. And it's about nothing elseEverything is upside down 2. And all of this is done with so much wit, esprit and attention to detail that it is truly a pleasure to watch the film - just as millions of people have done around the world. Quite rightly the most successful film of 2024!
