“BB Cream Nails” are trending,and Co. But where does the trend actually come from? The term was coined by the Canadian cosmetics companyGelcareas the name for a series of nail polishes in their range that are characterized by a kind of milky effect and transparency and which, according to the website, are intended to “provide a natural but eye-catching, clean manicure”.

As the name suggests, the polishes are inspired by the creams of the same name, which combine gentle make-up and skin care. When used on the face, BB creams act as a primer, foundation and moisturizer. They provide the same coverage as a light to medium foundation and give the skin a slight tint - just enough to conceal redness, acne scars and uneven complexion.
And just like the creams, the special nail polishes for “BB Cream Nails” should combine a natural look with a gentle filter effect. "It's about coating your natural nails with a light coverage that blurs any imperfections - just like a BB cream does for your face," explains nail artist Mateja Novaković.
The “BB Cream” manicures are so versatile
“BB cream nails” can be created with both transparent polishes and a gel manicure. They are also super versatile in terms of color. “Previously you could only achieve such a natural look with beige polishes,” explains Novaković, “but last season we saw a wider variety of 'BB cream' shades - lilac, white, cool pink and peach - which ensure a radiant and healthy nail look with a high shine factor.”
