Valentina Sampaio and Victoria's Secret: The trans* model is the first again

In 2019, Brazilian model Valentina Sampaio was the first trans* woman to appear in a campaign bymodeled. Now, five years later, they are andAlex Consanithe first two trans* models to walk the runway at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

On October 15, 2024 the time had come and the first Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in six years took place in New York. Valentina Sampaio wore a huge black and copper striped bow on her back instead of angel wings. Her look was more minimalistic with a black satin bra, matching black underwear and a nude mesh midi skirt that featured rhinestones. She also wore pearl-embellished pumps that wrapped around her ankles like snakes.

In an exclusive interview with thePeople Magazinethe model spoke about the moment that she will “cherish for a lifetime.” It continued: “Today, the Victoria's Secret family showed the world that being trans is just as special and beautiful as anyone else on the runway. Inclusivity is critical to the world we build and I am honored to walk the runway with pride, love and the hope of inspiring the next generation.
