Living trends for 2025: You can't ignore these furnishings and interior styles

2025 is a year of contrasts. On the one hand we have absolute, cutecore and pastel colors - and on the other hand back to nature, down-to-earthness and. Of course, brown, gray and white are still popular colors - but in 2025 it will also be pretty loud and colorful.

Are you planning to move in 2025, need new furniture or just want to rearrange your room? Then it might be worth taking a look at the 5 biggestLiving trends for 2025.Find out which living trend suits you best here.

Using trend barometers,Pinterest-Predictsand interior professionals like Ayan Yuruk are already predicting some living trends for the coming year. We have introduced five of them to you here.

Wohntrend 1: Cutecore

Barbie, Polly Pocket, friendship bracelets and co.: things will be sweet in 2025. That means pastel colors, heart shapes and an aesthetic that you will also find at a stereotypical children's birthday party. Everything is decorated with cute stickers and there is glitter in every corner. Someone hassaid? Yes, of course some of the pieces remind us of items that you could buy in a gumball machine on the corner. But we love it.

Cutecore can be found in every aspect of the apartment: the crystal-look candlesticks, the bow-shaped pillows and the towel with a little face on it.

Living trend 2: down-to-earthness

Tired of pastel colors and sweet hearts in every corner? Don't worry, natural colors are trendy again this year.

Design expert Ayan Yuruk, who also appears in the Netflix seriesis known, sees one trend in particular in the new year: grounding and stability. “We want to feel safe and retreat into our cocoon where we feel comfortable and safe,” he explains. “The colors brown and terracotta, which stand for stability, protection and down-to-earthness, will characterize 2025. And they have decided that they are no longer just the decoration in the background, but the protagonists. Terracotta has even planned to bring real warmth into the apartments.”

That means organic shapes, warm colors and plants in terracotta flower pots. You can also bring warmth into your home through carpets in organic shapes with long fibers - and of course the odd blanket that is draped over the chair.

Living trend 3: More is more

Maximalism and eclecticism have become increasingly important in recent years. This will not change in 2025. The Pinterest trends for 2025 include a “rococo revival”, the “childhood trend” and the trend towards “mix & maximalist”, be it in fashion, decoration or in the interior.

Rococo means: hyper-femininity, opulence,, gold and rose. You think something like that might appeal to Louis XIV? Then you are absolutely right. Maybe a little more rosé and a large portion of romanticism - and the picture is perfect.

Plus, next year we'll live out our childhood dreams, à la dopamine decor: If you like something and make you happy, hang it up. It doesn't matter whether you already have enough stuff hanging on the walls - and it doesn't matter whether your five-year-old self would like it too.

Finally, according to Pinterest, next year we'll see bold patterns, eclectic designs and different textures thrown together - in all colors.

Living trend 4: Sustainable materials

flows into every aspect of our lives - including our own four walls. As already confirmed in Trend 2, nature is once again being placed at the center. Natural materials radiate a certain calm that we need in these turbulent times - design expert Ayan Yuruk also sees it that way.

Peace, balance and down-to-earthness can be expressed primarily through color, but materials such as wood, jute, wool and organic shapes also contribute.

Pinterest also sees a greater focus on sustainability in the future, but with an eco-futuristic aesthetic. Plants in combination with glass and organic shapes create exactly this look and feel. For example, you can hang plants from the ceiling, ideally in front of the window - this way they get lots of light and it looks trendy at the same time. You can also take the hanging plants with you as DYIManufacture - this puts even more focus on the closeness to nature and craftsmanship.

Living trend 5: minimalism

Yes, minimalism will of course be back in style in 2025. We can't imagine it ever going out of fashion. But in 2025, minimalism will still have a hard time - because maximalism and bright colors are simply everywhere. But eclecticism and minimalism do not necessarily have to be mutually exclusive.

In 2025 it's simply about owning just one or two eccentric pieces and removing otherwise distracting and unimportant objects. Not only is this an exciting trend, but at the same time there is less dusting to do. Minimalism can also be used to play with colors and light. White or gray tones on the walls are classic - but you can still bring warmth into the rooms with various lamps that emit warm light (not a ceiling lamp!).
