Zara x Nanushka puts the high street brand in a premium light
We already know it from H&M for many years - the designer collaboration. While one of the most popular and largest retailers has been teaming up with big names from the fashion world since 2004 (keyword: “Karl Lagerfeld x H&M”), Zara is now also exploring the world of creative collaboration. After a capsule collection with Stefano Pilati, the former creative director of Saint Laurent, and a collection designed together with supermodel Kate Moss, a collaboration with theHungarian luxury label Nanushkaannounced. Here's everything we know about it!
When can the collection be shopped?
Zara x Nanushka will be available online from Monday, October 28, 2024zara.com/deas well as in selected stores worldwide.
What awaits us?
The collaboration between the Spanish high street brand and the Hungarian luxury label includes, accessories, interior and men's fashion. Nanushka was founded in Budapest in 2005 by Sandra Sándor and has since been known for progressive designs that combine innovative craftsmanship with aesthetic tradition. According to the founder herself, the collaboration should reflect the idea of “East meets West”, i.e. the interaction between East and West.
When it comes to jewelry, you can look forward to rings, earcuffs, earrings and necklaces in organic shapes. While the influence of the Bauhaus style brings the silver into the pieces, the inspiration of Eastern cultures provides floral patterns and color. Thecollection uses a range of textures with a focus on wood and marble. For the first time there is the opportunity to shop for furniture from Nanushka. Many people know the luxury label for its women's fashion, which unfortunately has to be omitted in this collaboration; However, the menswear is based on the brand's usual design elements: oversize cuts, high-quality fabrics, exciting details and a color palette based on earth tones.
Which pieces are already my favorites?
For me personally, Nanushka's design is somewhere between 1970s bohemian style and an idea of quiet luxury, which occasionally uses rivets, leather and print. The jewelry, accessories and clothing items will also look similar.
My favorites are, among others, the knitwear cape in the organic black and white print as well as the black studded belt from the accessories category. In addition to the painted plate, the glass carafe with the green lid is definitely on my interior wish list. As much as it's a shame that we don't get any womenswear - I was hoping for pieces made from the soft vegan leather from Nanushka - there are definitely pieces from menswear that you can add to your shopping cart. These include, above all, coats and sweaters that look good even if they are a little larger and wider cut and no one would notice that they are not women's fashion.
