You want to put more money aside, but you just can't really do it? That can be changed. At first it is important to have a savings goal. If you have no concrete plans and wishes and just want to save a little more, a certain amount of money you work is suitable.
How about 5000 euros, for example? Maybe sounds pretty high, but it is not that difficult. We'll tell you 5 measures that can be used.

Save 5000 euros: #1 cook yourself instead of eating away
You often go out to eat because it is comfortable and you don't feel like cooking after work? You should change that quickly if you want to save money faster. Because overall you can save significantly more if you cook yourself and plan your budget well.
The meal prepipping is super practical here. You first create a meal plan and then always cook in one evening for the next three days.
Tipp:Instead of shopping several times a week, you should plan a large shopping once a week. Then you can plan your budget in advance and look for offers. Also practical: 'Too Good to Go' and 'Foodsharing'.
Using an example, we want to illustrate how much you can save in six months. Since it is a fictional example, it cannot be projected 1: 1 onto every person. For our example, we present Lisa to you: she would like to save 5000 euros for an extensive Japan trip in half a year.
Example:
So far, Lisa has been eating an average of eight times a month or orders something. On the other days, she usually looks spontaneously what she eats and often falls back on ready meals. At the moment she spends 350 euros for food and restaurant visits.
From now on, she takes a look at or order once or twice a month for six months and instead cooking more yourself. Through skillful planning, you can save 150 euros per month and only spend 200 euros per month for food. In six months it saves 900 euros.
5000 euro - 900 euro = 4100 euro
Save 5000 euros: #2 "No Spend"-Month
A really simple and effective way to save money is a "no spend" month, a month in which you do not spend anything in. Instead of the Matcha latte from your favorite cafe, you just take a coffee for on the go at home.
You also leave clothing and other products that you do not necessarily need in the shop. So that you really only buy the bare essentials, you should write a list before every purchase and strictly adhere to it to avoid impulse purchases.
Tip: never go hungry.
Example:
Lisa incorporates a “no spend” month into her everyday life every other month. In these months it saves about 150 euros. Make 450 euros in six months.
4100 euro - 450 euro = 3650 euro
Save 5000 euros: #3 subscriptions and contracts
In particular, a lot of money is lost in many per month through unnecessary subscriptions or old contracts that are far too expensive. So check your subscriptions and find out if you really need them. Instead of going to the gym, you could try out home workouts, for example. Or, you take part in sports courses that are free.
It also makes sense to check old cell phone and internet contracts and to adapt if necessary. Maybe you have also completed a streaming subscription for a specific series, but no longer use the service.
Example:
Lisa has some old contracts that will all go through. She terminates her cell phone contract and concludes a new one, saving it 60 euros in six months. She also quits a streaming service. This saves 74 euros in half a year.
3650 euro - 134 euro = 3516 euro
Save 5000 euros: #4 leave the car
A lot can also be saved in terms of traffic. Think about leaving your car for a while and instead ride to work by bus and train. Especially when you use the car frequently, the 58-euro ticket can really be worthwhile for you.
You should collect your expenses for the car, i.e. fuel bills, as well as the costs for insurance and wear. You will probably get a significantly higher amount than 58 euros a month.
Example:
In our sample calculation, we assume that Lisa will cover 40 kilometers three times a week and thus spends around 22 euros per week for refueling. It is 88 euros per month.
If Lisa had the 59-euro ticket, she would save 30 euros a month. Make 180 euros in half a year if you only look at the fuel costs. When Lisa the caralso privateleaves it more often, it also saves.
Total bill: 3518 euros - 180 euros = 3336 euros
Save 5000 euros: #5 of a part -time job or mini job
If you already have a full -time job, it should probably be difficult with an additional part -time job. Depending on the working time, it can still be feasible, at least if you only want to save money temporarily.
A 560 euro job makes sense, especially if you want to save more money in a short time. If you regularly have a "9 to 5" job, you could, for example, help in the evening or weekend or at events as a service. Babysing or tutoring are also good opportunities to also earn some money.
Alternatively, you can also sell objects or clothing that you no longer need. In addition to relevant platforms such as eBay classifieds, you can also get together with others and sell your things at a flea market.
Example:
Lisa can no longer lower her expenses. It would now only remain to lower her rent by moving into a smaller apartment. But that is out of the question for you. Therefore, she decides to accept a mini job for six months.
It takes advantage of the seasonal business of an ice cream parlor that is increasingly looking for temporary help in May to October and will help out a few hours there on weekends and after work. She receives 556 euros per month for the job.
3336 – 3336 = 0 Euro.
In total, Lisa was able to save 5000 euros in half a year. Since she only saves money for a certain occasion, Lisa canceled her mini job after six months. However, she tries to maintain the other savings measures in a stripped form.
