The older, the higher the assets? Yes, but only up to a certain age.
How much fortune have 40- to 44-year-olds on average? A study shows where you are - and when saving is most worthwhile.
While some have already built a remarkable assets at 40, others pay a house loan or maybe work part -time because they have children. Either way, saving is not particularly easy, especially in view of high living costs.
But how much does the average really have in the account? To find out, it is worth taking a look at the age -specific distribution of household networks.

The respondents between the ages of 40 and 44 saved an average assets of 87,200 euros.The richest 10 percent of this age group have an average assets of 438,900 euros.
Overall isbetween the group of 35- to 39-year-olds and the group of 40 to 44 year olds, with an asset difference frommore than 50 percent, the biggest jumpto record. As a result, this means that at the beginning of 40 you can apparently put the most money aside.
Assets: After 44, the assets increased less strongly
In the second half of the 40th decade of life, the assets continue to increase, but to a less strong extent than before. The savings in the age group between 45 and 49 years are an average of 105,000 euros, so only almost 17 percent more. The wealth of the richest ten percent is 519,000 euros.

Overall, the wealth grows with age, but the relative differences in assets are greatest at a young age. According to the study, the relationship status also affects the assets. Couples who share a household were able to build up significantly more assets than singles and single parents.
