A cake that is so tasty that you can actually eat it "stupidly": Here a delicate shortcrust pastry floor meets creamy pudding, crispy walnuts and dark chocolate. Almost forbidden!

"Face yourself stupid" cake: cake recipe with pudding cream

The "Friss you stupid" cake (or also eat-dich-dumm, friezen-mich-dumm or ISS-dich-dumm) consists of three layers: a classic shortcrust pastry, a cream on pudding basis and a crispy covering made of caramelized walnuts and Faring chocolate. Sounds heavenly, right?

Ingredients for a sheet:

For the shortcrust pastry:

  • 250 g Mehl
  • 3 TL baking powder
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 no (gr. M)
  • 125 g Butter
  • some fat for the shape

For the pudding cream:

  • 1 Pck. Vanillepuddingpulver
  • 50 g of sugar
  • 1 TL Vanilleextrakt
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 400 ml milk
  • 1 away coke
  • 60 g Butter

For the nut chocolate covering:

  • 250 g walnuts (roughly chopped)
  • 75 g soft butter
  • 120 g of sugar
  • 50 g of dark chocolate

Preparation:

1. Prepare and pre -bake shortcoming

First the oven on180 degrees top/bottom heator forced air: Preheat 160 degrees and grease the baking sheet well. You can use butter, neutral vegetable oil or a separation spray.

Then prepare the shortcrust pastry. Beat the sugar with butter and egg until frothy, add vanilla extract, then stir in the flour, baking powder and salt and knead with each other quickly until a smooth dough is created. Put the dough onto the baking sheet and press it out so that it is evenly thick.

2. Prepare pudding cream

Now to the cream layer: Mix the milk with salt, sugar and the vanilla extract in a saucepan and get hot, add the pudding powder and bring to the boil while stirring. Make sure that you stir thoroughly with the whisk so that no lumps are created.

When the pudding thickens, switch off the stove, set the pot aside and let the contents cool down a bit. Important: Stir again and again so that no skin is created. Alternatively, you can also put a piece of cling film on the pudding surface.

If the pudding has cooled, add the coconut oil and soft butter and stir in smooth until a smooth mass is created. Then spread the pudding cream evenly on the cooled shortcrust pastry floor.

3. Prepare nut chocolate covering

First produce a caramel for the walnut chocolate crunch. To do this, melt butter and sugar in a pan on a medium level. Roughly break the walnuts depending on the taste or chop them more finely.

Then put in the pan and stir until the caramel is nice and gold. Make sure not to let the pan get too hot. Otherwise the caramel nut crunch quickly becomes bitter. The walnuts are candied, take out of the pan and spread them quickly on the pudding mass.

Tipp:When caramelizing, the sugar-water mixture becomes crumbly at some point. Now don't despair and turn off the stove, many make the mistake! Keep stirring until the sugar clumps melt again. Only then do you have real caramel.

As a last step, let the chocolate (you can also use chocolate coating) over a water bath and sprinkle the liquid chocolate over the cake with a spoon. Let the nut chocolate crunch cool and then enjoy.

The great thing about the simple recipe: you can modify it according to your taste. Instead of vanilla pudding, you can also use caramel pudding, for example. The fine aroma fits perfectly with the nuts.

If you don't like any walnuts or have an allergy, you can also use pecans or hazelnuts instead. A wonderful aroma is created with milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate!
