Mulled wine is simply part of the Christmas season, right? Enjoy the winter classic in combination with a creamy cheesecake.
It smells of mulled wine, cinnamon and sweet cranberries – exactly what makes the pre-Christmas season so magical! When it's cold and gray outside, there's nothing better than turning on the oven and turning the kitchen into a little Christmas bakery.
Our mulled wine slices are not only an eye-catcher on the Advent table, but are also heavenly creamy and full of festive aromas. With a crispy cinnamon star base, a delicate cheesecake layer and a touch of mulled wine icing, they are the perfect dessert for Christmas time. The recipe is here.

Recipe for Christmas mulled wine slices
Ingredients for approx. 16 pieces:
- 80 g fresh cranberries
- 200g sugar
- 5 tbsp sugar
- 250 g Zimtster
- 100 g Butter biscuits
- 150 g Butter
- 1 kg low-fat quark
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 5 Owner (M)
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
- 50 g Flour
- Salt
- 1 packet of red cake icing (for 250 ml liquid)
- 250 ml mulled wine
- To decorate: 16 cinnamon stars
Preparation:
1. Wash and drain the cranberries. Put 50 g of the sugar in a pot with 50 ml of water and simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Remove pot from heat. Add the cranberries to the syrup and mix until all the berries are coated in the syrup. Drain the cranberries, spread them on a piece of baking paper and set aside.
2. For the base, finely crumble 250 g cinnamon stars and butter biscuits. Melt butter. Mix in the crumbs. Line a deep baking tray (approx. 27 cm x 36 cm) with baking paper. Place the crumb mix on top and press down to form a flat base. Refrigerate.
3. Mix the quark, 150 g sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, lemon peel, flour and a pinch of salt. Pour into the mold and smooth out.
4. Bake in the preheated oven (electric stove: 200 °C, fan oven: 180 °C; gas: level 3) on the lower rack for about 30 minutes. Remove and let cool.
5. Mix the cake icing with 2 tablespoons of sugar in the pot, gradually stir with cold mulled wine until smooth. Bring to the boil, immediately spread the icing evenly over the cake using a tablespoon from the center and allow to set.
6. Roll the cranberries in 3 tablespoons of sugar. Cut cake into pieces and arrange on a serving platter. Decorate with the remaining 16 cinnamon stars and cranberries.
