First in the video: Oatmeal is so healthy
Do you value a balanced diet? Then you definitely have to bake these quick oatmeal quark rolls with carrot pieces.
You don't have to go to the bakery for these delicious oatmeal rolls. You only need about half an hour and a few ingredients, most of which you probably already have in the house. And that doesn't include flour or yeast. Because oat flakes are not only great in porridge or as, it's also great for baking.
The quark or Skyr and the grated carrot make these little rolls nice and juicy and, thanks to their high protein content, they keep you full for a long time. But it's not just the roll itself, but also what goes on it that influences when the next hunger strikes.
Sausage, cheese and jam are tasty, but not very imaginative. There are so many ways to add a healthy variety to your bread roll. Here we have collected a few of our favorite spread recipes for you:
Quick rolls with oatmeal
Ingredients for 4 rolls:
- 1 egg (size M)
- 120 g oat flakes, tender
- 100 g grated carrots
- 270 g Skyr or low-fat quark
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- Optional: sesame, sunflower or pumpkin seeds
And this is how it works:
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat. Line a tray with baking paper.
2. Peel and grate the carrot (e.g. B. with this rasp from Amazon*). Then mix with the remaining ingredients. Be careful, the dough will be quite sticky. Form 4 rolls out of this and place them on the baking tray. Lightly cut the surface with a serrated knife. Optionally sprinkle with sesame or pumpkin seeds.
3. Bake the oatmeal rolls for about 25-30 minutes until they are golden brown. Allow to cool before consumption.
Nutritional values per roll (for 4 pieces):
- Calories: 180.88 kcal
- Protein: 13.13 g
- Carbohydrates: 23.19 g
For comparison: a normal white roll of around 55g only contains around 5 to 6g of protein and over 30g of carbohydrates.
