Gingerbread from the tray: quick recipe
For a slightly spicy gingerbread you need gingerbread spice. If you don't have this at home, you can easily make it yourself. For this you need cinnamon, clove powder, allspice, nutmeg, cardamom and some ginger powder.
This is what you need:
Ingredients for one tray
- 350 g Flour
- 300g sugar
- 100 g ground almonds
- 1 pack of gingerbread spice
- 1 pack vanilla sugar
- 1 pack of baking powder
- 250 ml milk
- 150 g Butter
- 2 EL Honig
- 4 Owner
- Optional: couverture to decorate
And this is how it works:
1.First all dry ingredients are mixed together. So this means: You mix flour, sugar, almonds, gingerbread spice, vanilla sugar and baking powder in a bowl.
2.Now it's time for the liquid ingredients. You should warm the butter in a pot or the microwave. Then mix with the remaining liquid ingredients. Use a whisk or a hand mixer for this.
3. Finally, the liquid ingredients are mixed with the dry ones. Stir until you have a uniform dough without any lumps.
4.Now line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the dough on it. The dough should be about 1 cm high. In the preheated oven200 degrees circulating air for about 20 minutesbake.
5.Once the gingerbread has cooled, you can decorate it with chocolate icing. It will be even more Christmassy if you add some Christmas sprinkles (is available here on Amazon*) sprinkle over the liquid chocolate. Finally, cut the gingerbread into pieces and enjoy.
