In advance in the video: 5 kitchen secrets revealed
Robber meat is a popular gourmet dish from the oven. Schnitzel is baked with peppers, mushrooms and a creamy sauce. Everyone is happy to help themselves!
You've probably seen the term "robber's plate" on the menu in a restaurant. This is an empty plate that the little ones can use to “steal” something from their parents’ plates here and there.
Our robber meat is somewhat reminiscent of a robber's plate, on which delicious ingredients come together in a casserole dish and become a very unique dish. Schnitzel, colorful vegetables, pickles and an aromatic sauce combine to create a real oven hit. Bread or baguette, but also rice, pasta or potatoes go well with this.
Also a delicious family meal:
Simple recipe for juicy robber meat
Tastes are different, so we prefer to prepare our robber meat a little milder, especially if children are eating with us. But if you like it spicy, you can season it with cayenne pepper or replace the sweet paprika with rose-hot pepper.
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 thin pork or chicken schnitzels
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 onion
- 300 g Mushrooms
- 2 Spitzpaprika
- 2 large pickled cucumbers
- 200 g sour cream
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 250 ml beef stock or vegetable broth
- 2 tsp paprika powder, sweet
- Cayenne pepper to taste
- Salt and pepper
- oil
And it's that easy:
1. Season the schnitzels generously on both sides with salt, pepper, paprika powder and optionally cayenne pepper. Then place in a baking dish.
Tipp:Instead of schnitzel, you can also use sliced meat or pork medallions.
2. Peel the onion and garlic and chop both into small pieces. Clean and quarter the mushrooms, wash the peppers and cut into strips. Dice the pickles.
3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the onion in it. Then add garlic, mushrooms, cucumbers and peppers and sauté for a few minutes.
4. Deglaze everything with broth or stock, stir in tomato paste and sour cream. Bring the sauce to the boil briefly, then season with salt, pepper, paprika powder and cayenne.
5. Pour the sauce with the vegetables over the schnitzels. Cook the casserole dish for 35-40 minutes in the preheated oven at 180 degrees top/bottom heat.
