Recipe: Pasta casserole with cheese and ham

My tip: Pasta casseroles can always be expanded to include delicious vegetables. Peas, broccoli or grated carrots go really well with this lightning-fast pasta and ham gratin.

Ingredients for approx. 4 servings:

  • 500g pasta
  • 2 THE BUTTER
  • 2 EL MEHL
  • 1 small onion
  • 800 ml milk
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 tsp vegetable broth powder
  • 1 splash of lemon juice
  • 100 g Speckwürfel
  • 100 g cooked ham
  • 50 g grated Parmesan
  • 200 g gratin cheese
  • Fresh chives

And this is how the preparation works:

1. Cook the pasta in plenty of salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. In the meantime, peel the onion and cut it into small cubes. Open the oven180 degrees top/bottom heatpreheat.

2. Dice the cooked ham and fry the bacon in a pan without adding any fat.

3. Heat butter in a pot and sauté the onion cubes in it. Then dust the whole thing with flour, stir well and let it brown slightly. Now gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly and let it simmer. Season with broth, nutmeg, paprika powder, salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon.

4. Now stir the Parmesan and half of the gratin cheese into the sauce. Then mix the diced ham and bacon with the sauce.

5. Pour the finished pasta into a baking dish and pour the sauce over it, mix well. Then sprinkle with the remaining gratin cheese and cook for approx.25-30 minutesBaked until golden brown in the oven. Serve with some chopped chives and enjoy. A fresh salad goes well with it.
