If you want something really hearty, the Schmackofatz stew is served on your plate. It's filling for the whole family.
An autumn stew that is second to none: creamy, filling, easy to make and so delicious. When it's really uncomfortable outside, sometimes we need a real tasty dish to warm us up.
As a vegetarian version without minced meat, the hearty stew also tastes really good. Important: Season well so that it doesn't taste too bland. That's why I like to use herb-processed cheese instead of cream-processed cheese.

Simple recipe for minced cauliflower stew with processed cheese
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500g minced meat
- 1 onion
- 400g cauliflower
- 300g potatoes
- 200 g processed cheese, herbs
- 1 EL Senf
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder, sweet
- 700 ml vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper
- oil
And this is how it works:
1. Peel the onion and chop finely. Peel the potatoes and cut them into bite-sized cubes. Cut the cauliflower into small florets and wash.
2. Heat oil in a large pot. Fry the onion and minced meat in it. Season with salt, pepper and paprika powder (a pinch of minced meat seasoning also makes it really tasty, you can get it from, for exampleOstmann here on Amazon*).
3. Now add the potatoes and cauliflower, roast briefly and then deglaze with vegetable broth. Bring everything to the boil and simmer over medium heat for about 20-25 minutes until the potatoes are cooked.
4. Then stir in the processed cheese and mustard. Season the soup with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Complete!

Stew with cabanossi instead of minced meat
It's that easy to change up the stew. Leave out the minced meat and instead cut approx. 150 g of Cabanossi into thin slices. You can either fry these until crispy like the minced meat or stir them into the stew later as a topping. The cabanossi give the dish an extra dose of spice.
