Are you bored of mulled wine and Feuerzangenbowle and want a cool drink with some winter vibes? Then let’s get to the cocktail shaker. Here comes our recipe for a blizzard margarita.
Every year I fervently hope for a white Christmas. But mostly instead of snow it's 10 degrees and rain. Really stupid! My solution: Plan a trip to the mountains... or at least ensure a white Christmas in a cocktail glass!
This snowstorm margarita is my absolute insider tip for anyone looking for a Christmas drink: thanks to orange liqueur, rosemary twigs and cranberries, it exudes deluxe winter vibes.

Quick recipe for a Blizzard Margarita
Don't have Triple Sec? Alternatively, Cointreau works, or you can use, for example, coconut liqueur and a dash of orange syrup for sweetness - but then there is no guarantee that the cocktail will remain as wonderfully white as snow.
This is what you need for 1 cocktail:
- 60 ml weißer Tequila
- 30 ml heller Triple Sec
- 60 ml coconut milk
- Juice of one lime
- Ice cubes
- Coconut water
To decorate
- Cranberrys
- Rosemary sprigs
For a sugar rim
- 1 lime
- 3 tsp sugar
And this is how you mix the winter drink:
1. Place several ice cubes in a cocktail shaker.
2. Wash, dry, halve and squeeze the lime. Add the juice to the shaker along with the tequila, triple sec and coconut milk and shake vigorously.
3. Run one of the lime halves over the edge of the cocktail glass. Place sugar on a flat plate. Run the moistened rim of the glass over the sugar.
4. Fill the cocktail glass with ice cubes. Strain the drink from the shaker over the ice. Top up with coconut water and decorate with rosemary and cranberries. Complete!
Tip: You can also put all the ingredients in a blender along with the ice cubes for a Frozen Blizzard Margarita!
