Tuna pasta casserole recipe with peas
For our recipe you really only need a few ingredients and you probably already have many of them in the house anyway. But if you still have ingredients such as peppers or mushrooms in the fridge or pantry that are waiting to be used: feel free to chop them up and add them in step 3 of the preparation.
You need these ingredients for four portions:
- 400 g chicken Pasta, from B. Fussili
- 1 stalk of leek
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 EL Mehl
- 2 cups of whipped cream
- 150 g cream cheese
- 200 g cheese, grated
- Salt
- Pfeffer
- 2 cans of tuna, in its own juice
- 150 g peas, frozen goods
And this is how it is prepared:
1. First turn on the oven160 °C circulating air (180 °C top/bottom heat)preheat. Cook pasta al dente according to instructions on package.
2. While the pasta is cooking, you can start preparing the sauce. To do this, remove the ends of the leek, cut the leek in half lengthwise and wash it very thoroughly, then cut it into half rings.
3. Heat some sunflower oil in a large pot and add the leek rings. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer until the leek has collapsed. Meanwhile, peel the onion and garlic and chop finely. Add the remaining oil, onion and garlic to the leek. Mix everything well and fry briefly.
4. When the onions are translucent, dust flour over the contents of the pot. Stir in thoroughly, then pour in the cream. Stir this in well and heat the sauce over a medium heat.
5. Now you can add the cream cheese. Stir in until completely dissolved. Now stir in 75 g of the grated cheese and let it melt. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
6. Pour pasta into a baking dish. Open the can of tuna, drain the juice and shred the fish with a fork, then distribute over the pasta along with the peas. Pour the sauce over it, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and the whole thingapproximately 30 minuteslet it be gratinated. That's it!
Our tip:For the perfect taste experience, we recommend baking the casserole with grated cheddar cheese. This gives the whole thing the perfect aroma – and a nice, strong color.
