Winter Sangria: The holiday classic gets ready for New Year's Eve
Of course, fresh fruit is just as important in our winter sangria as it is in the summer version that we know from vacation. Suitable for winter, these include apples, pears and oranges as well as cranberries.
There are also anise stars and a pinch of cinnamon. This game of flavors is guaranteed to spice up your New Year's Eve party. And don't worry: if there are children joining in the celebration, you'll find a way to make the winter sangria non-alcoholic a little further down.
You need these ingredients for 1 carafe:
- 1 Bio-Orange
- 1 apple
- 1 pear
- 2 handfuls of cranberries (and a few more for decoration)
- 4 rosemary sprigs
- 1-2 The aniseeds
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
- 1 bottle of rosé or white wine
- 150 ml Prosecco or sparkling wine
- 50 ml mineral water
- 50 ml Cranberrysaft
- 1 splash of maple syrup (optional)
- some sugar
And this is how the preparation works:
1. First, wash the orange and cut it into slices. Also wash and dice the apple and pear. First remove the core casing. Also wash the cranberries and let them drain a little in a sieve. Rinse the rosemary and shake dry.
2. Put all the ingredients you have just prepared into a carafe, add the anise stars and cinnamon and pour the drinks over everything. Sweeten a little if you like and it's best to chill again before serving.
3. Serve garnished with sugared cranberries on a wooden skewer.
Tipp:Make sure that your winter sangria drinks are already chilled when you start preparing them. Otherwise, it's best to add a few large ice cubes to the carafe. If you want the punch to be suitable for kids, leave out the champagne and wine and replace both with apple juice and/or ginger ale.
