We have now discovered a new winter perfume at Douglas that immediately reminded us of a delicious summer cocktail.
The world of fragrances is a huge cosmos. In drugstores and perfumeries, small and large, pretty and extravagant as well as simple and minimalist bottles are neatly lined up on the shelves for us to discover.
Anyone looking for a new scent voluntarily embarks on an olfactory journey. After all, you don't usually buy a perfume based on its visual qualities, but instead pay attention to its inner values. Bottle design, packaging and advertising can attract our attention - but if we don't like the scent that comes out when we press the spray button, the perfume bottle quickly ends up back in its place. So it really depends on the scent.
When we try out the test, we are happy to rely on tips and recommendations. In addition, bestsellers, top sellers or new products always have a slightly easier time getting our attention. A bottle that I took off the shelf precisely to sniff it comes from the British lifestyle brand Jo Malone.
This is what Jo Malone's limited winter fragrance smells like
As usual, the bottle is purist and minimalistWinter perfumes by Jo Malone*: a rectangular bottle made of white glass with a gold-colored cap. It looks simple and elegant and, when decorated at home, immediately exudes a touch of luxury.
But the content is also special. When IFragrance “Orange Bitters”* When I tested it for the first time, a popular summer cocktail immediately came to mind when I sniffed it. I immediately thought of a glass of Aperol Spritz. I saw the orange-red color of the aperitif in front of me, imagined the orange slice and remembered the fruity, bitter aroma of the trendy drink.
The brand also describes its limited winter fragrance in a similar way. The scent is said to be spicy, delicious and reminiscent of a winter cocktail. When you spray the perfume, you first notice a juicy, sweet, fresh orange scent. This is the so-called top note. In the second phase, the heart note unfolds - a tart, fresh and spicy smell of bitter orange. The last note and the one that lasts the longest is the base note. Jo Malone's perfume has warm and sensual sandalwood nuances.
These perfumes are also great winter scents:
Something important at the end:Apart from the fact that the topic of fragrance is very individual and everyone has their own preferences, not every perfume smells the same on every person. This is partly because the fragrances react to the pH value of the skin. And this pH can vary from person to person.
Therefore: Tips and recommendations are always good. But you can only find out whether you ultimately like the scent and whether it smells the way you imagine if you test it yourself - ideally on your skin and not just on a strip of paper.
