3 upcycling tips to use your Christmas tree sensibly
You can also compost the tree yourself if you have your own compost pile. The only important thing here is that you chop up the tree beforehand so that it can weather well.
1. Fir Fragrance Oil:To do this, simply take a good handful of pine needles and put them in a bowl. Then pour sunflower oil or another odorless oil over them; almond oil is also particularly suitable (shop here on Amazon*).
Then just let it steep for a good two weeks and you'll have your own pine scent in the bottle!
2. Firewood:If you or someone you know has a wood stove, you can also chop up the tree and use it as firewood.
However, you should let the wood dry thoroughly beforehand; this can take several months. So, ideally, store it until next winter and then enjoy the crackling of the fireplace with your recycled Christmas tree.
