Who in springPlanted, a colorful flower splendor can look forward to a colorful flower in summer. We'll tell you which shrubs you can already plant (in March and April). Caution should be exercised in the selection, because even if there are many sunny days, the weather is still very changeable.
Important before it goes to the planting: the earth has to be loosened well, otherwise waterlogging may occur. Ideal are a crumbly and well ventilated floor. Water the shrub well in advance, for example in a bucket filled with water and then put it in a large planting hole. Work some compost at the top and then easily press the earth.

Rhododendron
Between March and May the ideal time is to plant rhododendron in the garden. If you choose the colorful shrub, you are spoiled for choice of over 1,000 different rhododendron species. Early flowering varieties (for example "April Reign" and "Praecox")) are currently recommended to sound spring. Others only open their flowers in midsummer or autumn.
The shrub likes it and slightly shady, for example under not too dense trees. Fertilizes the root area with horn shavings and covers the upper layer of earth with plenty of bark mulch. If you have little space available, you can e.g. B. also buy dwarf -modeendendron and plant them in a bucket.

Blueberry
The bushes that not only look beautiful are particularly practical, but also throw fruit - like the blueberry (At Lidl you can order the 'Sunshine Blue' garden heights*). Blueberry bushes can now be planted in spring so that they can bloom in May and you can harvest the dark blue berries from July.
Important with the blueberry: The pH of the soil should be between 3.5 and 5 (tip:At Amazon you will find a practical measuring device for this*). The normal garden floor is usually not suitable for the shrub. So use plenty of moorbeeter notes, rhododendron earth or hydrangea in the planting. As a location, you should search for a sunny or partially shaded and wind -protected cookie for the plant.

Hydrangea
The lavish flowering hydrangea can be planted from March to June and is popular in many gardens. The shrub can finally grow up to two meters high and with its large round flower balls is the epitome of the summer blossom.

Hardensia like it sunny to partially shaded and protected from the wind. You have a high water requirement, but it is absolutely possible to avoid waterlogging. When planting, the earth should therefore be nice and loose and have a pH between 5 and 6. So that it can also bloom nicely, it is important to do the shrub from March to August every two weeks with a special hydrangea fertilizer (you get here at Amazon*) to fertilize.
