Ariana Grande was paid twice as much as Beyoncé to headline Coachella

According to US magazine Variety, Ariana Grande was paid $8 million for her headlining performance at Coachella 2019. Definitely a staggering sum. Even more so when you consider thatBeyoncéHalf of this amount was paid in 2018.

Ariana Grande, the youngest headliner in the music festival's 20-year history, thrilled fans Sunday night when she brought a live orchestra to the stage, reunited *NSYNC and dueted with Nicki Minaj. Grande sang the hits from her five albums, including “Sweetener” (2018) and “Thank U, Next” (2019). Their production designer, LeRoy Bennett, told The Hollywood Reporter that the team began planning for the festival in late February.

However, one could argue that Grande's performance was weaker than Beyoncé's from last year. Her headlining set, dubbed “Beychella,” was a unique career retrospective. The“Formation” singerand her team created a stage design, set list and choreography that was completely unique and even legendary.

On Wednesday, Beyoncé released a Netflix film called "Homecoming," which documented the eight months of preparation for her elaborate performance.

As Business Insider reported, Beyoncé was likely paid between $3 million and $4 million last year. Fans on social media are angry because Grande appears to be stiff on stage compared to Beyoncé.

However, it's important to note that "Homecoming," as well as the live album she released on the same day, indicate additional income for the pop star.
